Once we have activated this option we will have the possibility to see how the appearance of everyone we see on our Samsung mobile phone changes completely, from the settings, to the applications and social networks like Instagram. These adjustments are not visible in the screenshots because it is an add-on that does not directly affect the software but only affects what we see on the screen, unlike the dark mode.

In the following images we show you the differences of seeing our Samsung mobile without inverted colors and the dark mode activated (left) next to inverted colors (right). The change of colors is drastic and if we know how to take advantage of it it will serve as an important battery saving.

Is the dark mode the same as inverting colors?

Although it may seem that the function is identical, the truth is that no, the dark mode is available only on terminals with Android 10 and offers us the possibility to adjust the colors of the options of our mobile and some apps that are compatible. However, with inverting colors even if our mobile phone does not have the dark mode available, we will be able to achieve significant battery savings, as a result of seeing different colors in the images.

The following images do not allow to see how this option of our Samsung mobile behaves on Instagram. On the left we see the option to invert colors with the dark mode, which is not useful and on the right without the dark mode activated but with the option to invert colors.

Why does this mode save us battery?

The screens are the element that consumes the most battery of our mobile and if we can turn off the pixels in the case of AMOLED screens or reduce the brightness in the IPS, we will be able to extend the battery remarkably.

This option is very useful especially for those Samsung phones that do not yet have the dark mode of Android 10 and can use the option to invert colors to save battery.

Other color modes to save battery

Although the following options will not allow us to save battery in the same way, they can also be useful. Within the options of our Samsung mobile we will also find the gray scale mode (right) that what it achieves is to completely eliminate the colors to make use of white and black throughout the smartphone. With this option our screen will not have to show a wide range of odors, from Rome that will save a minimum of battery.

Modo noche y escala de grises

This option, like the night mode (left), is mainly designed to reduce eye fatigue caused by the blue light of the screens, but in case we do not have the dark mode still activated and do not want to invert the colors for the result In Instagram photos and social networks, we can always opt for this option. Without reducing the range of colors in this case, but at least reducing the brightness and contrasts to make them more muted tones.
