Instagram Will Allow Publishing from the Web Directly

Instagram seems to be working on something that it should have done a long time ago: developing a web version that allows content to be published directly from the PC or any other equipment that can access the platform from a web browser. That, at least, is what Alessandro Paluzzi has commented on Twitter along with some screenshots of how the interface would look.

Instagram Will Allow Publishing from the Web Directly
There is no doubt that one of the most demanded features of Instagram is to allow content to be published directly from the computer and thus be able to forget having to go through the mobile application to do so.

Because right now only through some third-party services such as Hootsuite or Later, among others, they allow you to do so, but they are paid if you want all the options. And if you resort to the trick that allows through a change in the browser agent – to make the platform that you access from a mobile phone create – to publish on Instagram from the PC, it is not that it is neither comfortable nor one hundred percent complete the experience.

Access to Instagram from the web by changing the browser agent to simulate being on a mobile and being able to publish.

Luckily all this could change soon, because Alessandro Paluzzi has discovered what would be an upcoming update of the web version of Instagram that would allow to do all this publishing from the web without any limitation.

Because right now, when you go to Instagram from a web browser, the only thing it allows you to do is the following:

  • See the stories of all those profiles you follow
  • View the feed of publications of any public profile, those that you follow and are private as well as your own
  • Interact with posts and like, comment, share or save to your private collection
  • Access to direct messages and option to send new ones or reply to received ones
  • Access to posts, IGTV, saved posts and where you’ve been tagged

This will be the web version of Instagram that will allow you to publish

As you can see in the images, this would be the aspect that the web version in which Instagram is working would offer to allow its users to publish from a desktop browser.

Practically everything can be done the same as in the mobile application. Which means that not only will there be the option of uploading a photo, but also applying filters to it without anything failing, adding description, tags and most importantly: being able to publish videos .

What is unknown is whether it will also provide options to upload content in other formats such as those offered right now with the Reels themselves or the stories.

Even so, only with the improvement that an official solution would suppose to publish content in the feed without resorting to any type of trick and the experience is significantly improved.

A necessary novelty, more than the iPad version

Instagram DM web

As always happens, when Instagram shows a possible option that allows you to do more things outside of the app for iPhone and Android terminals, the question that arises is when will the iPad version be used?

Instagram already commented that they had no plans in the short or medium term to launch a dedicated version for the iPad and right now, as much as many users want it, it would not make sense either.

With the iPad version of Safari, which is the same as that of the Mac, you could access all these news that could be followed by Instagram shortly. So the need is not as great as it was a few years ago.
