I can't do a Bizum, my bank won't let me: what can I do?

Bizum is one of the best tools we currently have and allows us all kinds of options when it comes to sending money to friends or family and receiving it instantly to pay for half-cooked dinners, organize trips… But you may be going to use it to pay to someone or send money and it doesn’t work, the payment you’ve already made isn’t received. I can’t do a Bizum, why? We review which are the most frequent failures or what we should do when nothing works.

Generally, the failure will be temporary and it will take a matter of a few minutes for the application to return to normal and for us to be able to use it again, but there are some steps that we can follow to check where the failure is or how we can fix it.

Close the application

The first thing we can do is close the application in case it has been temporarily blocked. Close it completely and also if it is running in the background. To do this, long press the icon on Android and tap “force stop” . Or log out of your account in the bank application to check if logging in again works correctly and you can now make a Bizum normally.

Update

Updating is always essential to avoid any bug or failure and it is also essential if you cannot do a Bizum. Update your bank’s application on your mobile phone to fix all possible errors and have the latest version available. You can also uninstall and install again to see if we fixed the error.

The bank is not supported

If what happens to you is that your bank doesn’t let you do a Bizum and it’s the first time you’re trying to do it, maybe it’s because it’s not even compatible. Although most banks are, you should keep in mind that not all. And that is why we can check it from the Bizum website where we will see all the details and we will find a box in which we can enter the specific bank to find out if it appears on the list of compatible ones or not. So we will leave doubts.

Check your money

If you normally do a Bizum easily and you can’t do it at a specific time, make sure you have money in your account. If the application works normally and you have used it before, check that you have enough money to be able to make the transaction you want. If you don’t have it, you already know that here is the problem.

Check the limits

Bizum has limits. It’s not normal to reach them but you may have. And once that limit has been reached, you will not be able to send more money or make operations. There is a maximum weekly and monthly amount and there is a maximum amount limit per operation and day. If you’ve been trying to send a lot of money or have already sent money to friends and family multiple times this month, that’s probably the problem.
