One of the main objectives of the multimedia presentations that we design in programs like PowerPoint and the like is to attract attention. Specifically, what we are trying to do is capture the eyes of all those to whom we show this presentation so that they are attentive to the content that we have added.
At the same time we must take into consideration that everything that we include in the slides and that are part of our presentation, is not only based on the text. It is true that this is a key element in most cases. However, these days these types of applications allow us to use many other more graphical components . We refer to elements such as photographs and videos that will be an active part of our project in order to capture the attention of the public.
For all this, Microsoft, developer of this aforementioned program that is part of Office, offers us multiple tools. We find functions of all kinds thanks to which we can call to work with these multimedia elements and make them part of the presentation. However, as is usual in most of the software solutions we work with, everything does not always go smoothly. This means that sometimes we come across unexpected bugs that we need to fix as soon as possible.
A clear example of all this is found in the event that we cannot add photos to our PowerPoint presentations. This can become a serious inconvenience, especially if these multimedia contents are an important part of the project. For all this in these same lines that we will talk about the most common situations in which this error occurs and how to solve it. Normally, to add these contents we only have to go to the Insert / Images menu option.
Wrong disk location
It is worth mentioning that here we have the possibility to choose between three options to insert the photo that we want in that slide in which we are located. However, it may be the case that we cannot add the specific image that we want and that we have saved on the hard drive . In that case, it is possible that we are looking in the wrong location and that is why we cannot insert the photo.
Thus, we will have to choose the This device option, and navigate through the window in the form of a file explorer until we locate the folder where we have the images saved.
Photo format not supported by PowerPoint
On the other hand, we must bear in mind that this Microsoft program is compatible with most of the most common image file formats. However, if we’re trying to load some lesser-used format that PowerPoint doesn’t support, we’ll probably run into an error when trying to open the file from here. In this case the solution is quite simple. We will only have to use a photo file converter program and generate an output in JPEG format, for example, which is the most common. An interesting proposal for this is ReaConverter .
The photo file is damaged
It may also be the case that, when trying to open the photo in the Microsoft program , PowerPoint returns an error message. One of the main reasons for all this is that the photographic file itself is damaged beforehand. This means that we will have to download that image again, either from the internet or from our camera if it is our own.
