However, this is an option that we can disable on our Huawei mobile , since in addition to being an aesthetic option, it allows us to save data.
Rather than sending them, many of the text messages we receive are intended to get verification codes or receive advertising information. In addition, there are people who continue to use it as a communication method when WhatsApp fails or those who refuse to have this type of program. In any case, the SMS received on our Huawei mobile phone may show previews that will consume data , since they generate image previews. All these images are stored in temporary preview files that consume data.

But although the data is not the problem, the messages can become heavier or show with more difficulty what we are going to see, if it is accompanied by a preview . Luckily, we can play with this option on Huawei phones with EMUI 10 and earlier versions. In order to do so, we will have to enter the “Messages” application that is installed by default. Once inside we will have to touch on the three points in the upper right and click on “Settings”
More options available
Once inside this sub-menu, we must touch on “Automatic previews”. Now we will access the configuration menu where we can play with three options. The first allows to show absolutely all the previews that come to us. So we must disable it, along with the option that is just below, which indicates “Show only web link previews . “ This will no longer show these preview images in our message conversations.
Only with Wi-fi
However, there is an intermediate solution in case our goal is to save data. The option is disabled by default and should be the other way around, but we can activate “Download data only with Wi-Fi” so that the previews can be seen but only when we are under the protection of a Wi-Fi network so, don’t waste a single mega of data.
