The update does not download
Cache problem
It is one of the most common causes, since the update installer can also be corrupted by the accumulation of temporary files. When we have finished we must try to update the device again from Settings, System and Update software.
Check the battery
It is one of the things that Huawei makes clearer and that can cause this problem. We must always make sure that the phone has enough charge. The system prevents and blocks updates if the battery level is below 20%. Likewise, it is recommended to fully charge the phone before proceeding with the update.
Memory card problem
If we have recently inserted a memory card in our mobile, it may be the cause of the problem. We must try to remove the memory card and try again. This is likely as the update may fail if the phone and memory card are not compatible. The brands of supported memory cards may vary depending on the device.
Enough storage?
The storage space must be enough to be able to download the update. On many occasions we live at the limit of memory, without taking into account that some updates require enough free space to be downloaded and installed. It is important to erase the data on the phone or memory card before performing an update. It is a rare mistake. The update is downloaded correctly, but the mobile does not show the update screen after restarting . In addition, we will see an error message in the notification panel indicating that “the update attempt has failed.” In this case we will have to download the update package again and update again.
Verification failed
In this case, the update package has also been downloaded correctly, but it indicates that the verification cannot be enhanced. To solve it, it is recommended to connect the mobile to a Wi-Fi network and try again if you are using mobile data. We should try the reverse if we are already on a Wi-Fi network. If this does not work, we will have to press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to access the eRecovery mode and tap on “Download latest version and recovery”. Then we select on “Download and recovery”. At the end of the process, the mobile will restart and we can access the device again
It constantly restarts
Once the update process is underway , the mobile constantly restarts and cannot be turned on . This is because the phone has been accidentally switched off or the update package has not been installed. In this case we luckily have several solutions to try to repair the problem.
- Restart : we will have to press and hold the power button to force the restart of the mobile and try again.
- ERecovery mode: if the previous method fails, we will connect the mobile to the computer using the USB cable. Then we hold the power button for 15 seconds to access the eRecovery mode and click on “Download latest version and recovery” Then click on “Download and recovery”. At the terminal the terminal will restart and we can access the device again.
- With HiSuite : this method also requires connecting the mobile to the computer with HiSuite installed. Within the application we can enter the recovery function so that the terminal ends the restart cycle. Unless essential system files have been corrupted, this recovery mode will not erase personal data.
The update never comes

When the brand announces major software updates, the launch does not take place simultaneously in all countries. This means that you will have to wait until the mobile notifies you of the patch. Also, it is possible that two devices the same and in the same zone, do not receive the update at the same time. Force update
