Huawei confirms that the P40 will not have Google services
At this point we will not be surprised. The United States continues to tighten the rope and Huawei does not even think about it. The brand’s own CEO, Richard Yu, has confirmed in an interview conducted by the French media Frandroid during a visit to the brand’s offices in China that the future P40 will be presented in Paris next March, and its launch will come accompanied by Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), to replace the missing Google.
We will therefore be facing a new device with Android 10 with EMUI layer that will suffer the ban of the United States, so we will have to continue analyzing the growth of the ecosystem of Huawei, until now tremendously affected with the disappearance of key applications in the day to day of millions of users.
With these statements, what is clear is that the situation does not seem to be solved in the short term, so it is to be understood that the company continues to spend resources looking for alternatives that can meet the needs of users.
Will it arrive in Europe?
Another doubt will also be to what extent the phone will be launched in Europe. The Mate 30 Pro may not have reached good sales figures (for now we don’t know them), so a giant campaign media deployment for the P40 may not be in the manufacturer’s plans.
The strategy to follow could be similar to that of the Mate 30 Pro, with a reduced stock and testing the market until the reception of the public. In China, since it does not depend so much on Google, the phone should have the same reception as the Mate 30 Pro, so everything indicates that it will be a bestseller once again.
In the West, on the other hand, users have been forced to perform a series of installations to bring back Google’s services , something that is not available to anyone by level of knowledge and skill, but still, for many compensates . And do not forget that the device is a beast in performance and capabilities, however, the market is not ready to put aside Google. And seen the seen, neither Huawei.
