Among all the options that are in the mid-range of smartphones we find the Huawei P40 Lite and the Samsung Galaxy A71 , two examples of a good value for money. The inconvenience comes when buying one or the other, the two may be to our liking but only one will win the comparison.
Its characteristics and performance have nothing to envy the best, there are small brushstrokes that differentiate them but enough to know that we earn much more in different situations when buying one or the other. We get to know them point by point to make the best decision according to what we are looking for.
Design and display differences
Starting with the aesthetic section and therefore a very personal decision, we can see a design with many similarities . In the material we find plastic in both models and in the position of the cameras the super model to house the lenses in the most striking point. The arrangement changes but as we will see later on cameras this does not affect.
On the screen, the Samsung Galaxy A71 is unrivaled with its 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD + resolution and a high pixel density that will delight our content. In configuration between which we can choose the Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with more varieties on the market, with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and a single option of 128 GB. Meanwhile Huawei only offers a variety of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of memory. The two devices can expand this storage with the help of a Micro SD or NM Card in Huawei.
The big difference is in the cameras
Although the position may be similar to us, inside the data does not say the same. The Samsung Galaxy A71 has better camera equipment by offering a 64-megapixel primary lens first rather than Huawei’s 48-megapixel. The second lens dedicated to the wide angle is 12 Mpx on the Samsung side and it is reduced to 8 Mpx on Huawei. Battery and connectivity
At this point we will have a difficult decision because each one is better in one respect. The battery is the winner of the Huawei P40 Lite for including a fast charge of 40W but not for 4,200 mAh, however, Samsung fights back with 4,500 mAh and a fast charge of 25W. Looking at the connectivity, the two integrate audio jack and Bluetooth 5.0 but only Samsung has NFC to make mobile payments and other functions.
EMUI against One UI
The operating system of both terminals is based on Android 10 but taking into account that the Huawei P40 Lite does not integrate standard Google services and applications . This lack gives more advantages to Samsung that has also already begun to update this model with the novelties and tools of One UI 2.1. Given this EMUI 10.1 it is the latest version of the Huawei layer to which the P40 Lite already has access as well. It will be difficult to stay with one of the two, since tastes enter this section to decide, although services could be the key point.
Prices and purchase recommendation
Before staying with one or the other we have to know what its price is. The most expensive model is the Samsung Galaxy A71 with a price of 368 euros, an investment that differs markedly from the 200 euros for which we find the Huawei P40 Lite. An important price difference but that as we have seen has its great reasons.
In our opinion, opting for the Samsung Galaxy A71 has many advantages because the cameras are much better in all situations and offering real versatility, an AMOLED screen that offers a great experience, in addition to integrating Google services. These three reasons make that without hesitation, a greater investment can be very beneficial to us. In case our budget is limited, the Huawei P40 Lite has stood up to it and will continue to be a good purchase.
