Huawei is immersed in the process of updating EMUI 11. The new layer comes with enough news that the owners of many of the firm’s models want their own portion. But as usual, not all phones will receive the update at the same time, and we will even find surprises with models that will never see this version. At this point, it may be asked, what about the Huawei P Smart 2019? Is EMUI 11 going to receive one of last year’s best sellers? The answer will not like many users.
It seems that users have assumed that the large flagships have a private license to update before other devices, which went on sale before. The most powerful Huawei phones are in a better position to upgrade to EMUI 11, including the Mate 30 or P30 series. But, one wonders if the approach should not be the other way around, when there are many more users who enjoy mobiles like the P Smart 2019, or at least consider one update as important as another.
P Smart 2019 with EMUI 11
This terminal went on sale at the beginning of 2019, and since then we have seen it in practically all mobile operators, as one of the main claims. It is an inexpensive terminal that came to the market with EMUI 9, based on Android 9 Pie. It later made the jump to EMUI 9.1, also based on Android Pie. Between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, the terminal received its own portion of EMUI 10, the layer based on Android 10. Since then, the device is in a kind of limbo, where users are not clear whether or not it will be able to, try EMUI honeys 11.
If we take into account the official information that Huawei has provided so far, the P Smart 2019 does not fall within the EMUI 11 plans , at least for the terminals confirmed so far. If we look at what EMUI is, the terminal has received two updates, although only one of the operating system. To try to get rid of doubts, we have asked the Huawei Spain support team, and the answer has been clear: “The Huawei P Smart 2019 will not receive EMUI 11 for the moment.” However, there is a thread of hope, since the signature indicates that changes could occur in the final official list.
What are the reasons
Only the company knows why a bestseller like the P Smart 2019 is not going to update to EMUI 11. However, the resources dedicated to the software support of a smartphone that is in the hands of so many users are much greater than those that are dedicated to a less sold high-end terminal. Compatibility issues may also have occurred during Huawei’s internal testing, which ruled out the update for this particular model. Another model may be the hardware requirements, although it should not be the case of the P Smart 2019, since it more than meets the minimum hardware requirements for Android 11. Hopefully there may be a turn of events, but everything indicates that the P Smart 2019 will end its days with EMUI 10.
