This fifth generation network offers us a series of advantages over 4G. However, in order to enjoy these benefits, it is necessary that we meet a series of requirements.
Therefore, if you are an O2 customer and you don’t really know what you need to be able to get this technology on your Android or iOS device. Here, we explain that series of requirements that you will have to meet if you want to start browsing much faster than before from your mobiles.
Requirements to connect to 5G
In general, there are three requirements that we will have to meet right now so that we can connect our Android or iOS phone to the O2 5G network. And it is that, if we do not comply with any of these three points that we will see in detail below, we will not have the luck to be able to enjoy this technology.
First of all, you must be clear that it will be essential to have an O2 rate that includes 5G . Right now, the operator already ensures that all additional mobile lines associated with a fiber + mobile rate have 5G. However, if you have a mobile-only rate, they will all have this fifth-generation connection except the rate with 20 gigabytes and unlimited calls, which is priced at 10 euros.
Then, the second point that we must comply with will be to be in an area where there is 5G. Basically, we will have to be in an area that is covered by this network . Although, currently, 85% of the population in Spain has 5G coverage from Telefónica. The main drawback is the rural areas or less inhabited towns.
Finally, this will be another point that we will have to comply with yes or yes. And it is that, even if we fulfill the previous two, without this, the previous ones will be of no use. Differences between a 4G and 5G network
There are several differences that we find between these two mobile networks that are currently the most used by users. For example, when downloading a high-definition movie from a mobile phone, if we are connected to a 5G network , it may take less than four seconds, while with 4G it will take at least three minutes.
In addition, it must be taken into account that the bandwidth of this fifth generation technology is wide, while the width of 4G is reduced. And not only this, but you can have up to more than 1 million devices per km connected to a 5G network. On the other hand, with 4G we reach 10,000 devices per kilometer.
Therefore, if we are connected to this fifth generation network we will have more transfer speed , lower latency (there are fewer cuts and interruptions) and, above all, the user will have a better mobile connection at all times.
