How to share Apple One

Apple One arrived with the aim of saving some money on subscriptions to the company’s services. To configure “Family” you must follow a few simple steps. By setting it up, family members can share purchases, subscriptions, location, and more without sharing accounts. You can also set parental controls for children.

An adult family member, who will be the host , sets up a Family Sharing group and invites up to five other family members to participate. When family members join, they have immediate access to shared content.

Create a “Family” group

You just need to set up Family Sharing on one device. It will then be available on all devices where you’re signed in with the same Apple ID.

  1. Go to Settings > [ your name ] > Family Sharing. Then follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Family Sharing group.

  2. Touch a feature you want to set up for your Family Sharing group and follow the onscreen instructions.
    Depending on the services chosen, the system may ask you to set up a subscription. If you choose to share App Store purchases with family members, you agree to pay for purchases of music, movies, TV shows, and books that they make while in the Family Sharing group. Adult and teen family members can turn off their own shared purchases.
    You can check what you share with your family and change your sharing settings at any time. Features you share with your family appear above features you haven’t shared.

  • Subscriptions to Apple services and the App Store: You can share subscriptions to Apple services, including iCloud+, and compatible App Store subscriptions
  • Purchases: You can share purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, Apple Books, and Apple TV.
  • Locations: When you share your location with family members, they can use the Find My app to see your location and help locate a missing device.
  • Apple Card and Apple Cash: You can share your Apple Card with trusted members of the Family Sharing group or set up a family Apple Cash account for a son or daughter.
  • Parental controls: You can manage your son or daughter’s purchases and how they use their Apple devices.
