The Wi-Fi password is something we need to keep safe. Security recommendations advise us to change the default password of the router, remove the sticker where the password is printed, or even modify it from time to time. However, the time may come when we need to know our Wi-Fi password and not remember it or have it at hand. Luckily, our mobile saves that information and can show it to us if we use some other trick.

How to view the Wi-Fi password

If we enter the settings of the Wi-Fi networks of our mobile, we will not find any option that allows us to see the passwords. The password is something that we entered in its day, it was stored in the mobile and it will not be shown to us anymore. The good news is that we can see the stored Wi-Fi key in a simple way and without having to root the mobile. The only requirement is to be connected to the Wi-Fi network for which we want to check the password.

Generate a QR code

Once connected to the network, we will enter the Wi-Fi network settings. In practically all mobile phones on the market, including those with Android 9 and 10, we will see a QR code, which aims to be able to share the Wi-Fi connection without having to enter the password. In this code all the information is stored including said password, so we will use this code to be able to know the password.
