Although mobile rates are increasingly integrating larger data bonuses, and while unlimited rates are gradually taking over in a more general offer, users continue to look at how much each mega is spent. Running out of data can mean being very limited when we go outside and are not under the protection of our Wi-Fi network.
Many of the customization layers from different manufacturers have tools to save data. Surprises can happen at any time, either in the form of an app that consumes data in the background, or because we forget to activate Wi-Fi when we are at home, while consuming gigabytes and gigabytes without control. Let’s take a look at the solutions that OPPO offers on their mobiles in order to save data and control their consumption.
How to avoid wasting data
Activate Data Saving
The first and best option is to activate “Data Saving”. When enabled, background apps will not be able to use mobile data. However, the foreground application will decide whether to take data saving measures, for example, reduce the image resolution.
With this smart function, you cannot use the network connection function and the status bar will show the save data icon. However, you can also configure an application without restrictions, that is, those that do not have restrictions will be able to receive new messages through mobile data. To activate this tool we go to Settings / SIM card and mobile data / Data use / Data saving. Now we just have to activate the switch to start working and save data immediately.
Control consumption
The best method to avoid surprises and know where each mega goes is to see the data consumed. OPPO mobiles running ColorOS 6 or 7 can view it from Settings / SIM Card / Mobile Data / Data Usage. In this menu we can see the spent data reported by the team. Inside, we can click on:
- Use of mobile data : to be able to see the detail and spending by applications
- Mobile Data Limit: in order to establish a maximum daily consumption. Inside we can establish the start date of the period and the monthly limit. In this way, we will receive notifications when the data usage reaches the limited amount.
Apps that use Wi-Fi and mobile data
This option allows us to customize the network permission settings for each application. For this we will have to continue in the settings of the SIM card and click on Data Use / Network permissions. In this way, we can control those apps that should or should not use the data rate.
