This function is present in the smart settings or even within the sound settings themselves.
We can also carry out a blocking of a specific contact, so that we do not receive any notification or sound when he calls us. Your call will be diverted to spam. We can do this by entering the list of recent calls or in the contacts. Then we touch the contact settings and mark it as Spam. However, the best way to silence calls from a certain contact is to enter their name and touch on settings. Then we will see the option to set your custom ringtone. Upon entering, instead of selecting an active tone, we will mark the option “none” and in this way, we will silence all calls from this contact.

What if I want to do it the other way around?
We can also have the opposite interest. That is, we want to silence all calls and messages, but with the exception of some specific users. This can be done by activating the Do Not Disturb mode of our mobile. In this way all calls and messages will be silenced. However, we must add some exceptions to allow one or more contacts to bypass this prohibition . In this case we will have to go to Settings / Sound and enter Do Not Disturb.

All you have to do is tap on the three points in the upper right, within a conversation with the specific contact. Then we touch on “Silence notifications” and choose the period of time that will be silenced (which can be always). Once done, we will not receive messages or WhatsApp calls that contact makes us.
