Privacy has become a crucial concern for many internet users worldwide, given the significant role the internet plays in their lives. While it may not be apparent at first, there are limits to the freedom we have to use certain content. This is especially true when it comes to images.
Images are a prevalent and essential element of most web pages. However, it is essential to understand that many of these images are subject to specific copyrights. Therefore, although these images are available for viewing and downloading, it does not mean that we can use them in our own projects without permission.
It’s important to note that this issue is not limited to photos that are subject to copyright. There may also be cases where we own the graphic content ourselves, such as personal photos that we have shared online. In such cases, it’s important to remember that not everyone has the right to use these photos in their own projects.
Finding websites that have used our personal photos can be a daunting task in the vast expanse of the internet. Moreover, there may be instances where we have shared personal photos online, but we do not want them to be disseminated further.
This application searches your photos on the Internet
We all want to have control over who is using our personal images without our consent and sharing them on the internet. It can be very distressing to see our family vacation or personal images spreading online without our knowledge or permission. Thankfully, there is an application that uses facial recognition technology to help us search where our personal photos have been published.
This app, called PimEyes, scans the face of the image we want to analyze using its own AI and returns a list of web pages where our photos have been published without our permission, within seconds.
To track down unauthorized use of our photos, the initial step is to upload the image in question to the application. In case the picture features multiple faces, the software will promptly identify them and grant us the option to select the one we want to analyze.
Once the face recognition process is completed, the application will start searching for the location of the uploaded photo on the internet, which might take a few seconds. After the search is completed, the application will display a list of all the web pages that contain the photo with our face or of the person we have uploaded.
This simple method allows us to easily locate websites that have used our personal photos without our consent.
