You can access the router settings by entering the address “192.168.1.1” in your web browser. From there, navigate to the Firmware Updates tab to check the current firmware version or initiate an update if available. If you encounter any issues or are unable to access this tab, it is recommended to contact your service provider for further assistance.

Once you have accessed the configuration, navigate to the Management or Status and Support tab. Within this tab, you should find the Update function. Update Orange router firmware

For Orange customers, there isn’t a dedicated platform like the one in Movistar. Instead, you will need to access the router settings through the gateway address “192.168.1.1”, just like in Vodafone. From this menu, you can easily update the router firmware.

Once you have logged in using your username and password, navigate to the Info & Diagnostics tab. Within this tab, locate the Software Update section and click on Check for a new version. It’s as simple as that. However, if you have a LiveBox router, you have the advantage of automatic updates. This means that the router will install updates on its own without any action required from the user.

How to know if the router is up to date

Once you have learned how to update the router’s firmware for different operators, it’s important to check if your device is running the latest version. Here are some alternatives to help you determine if your router is updated:

  • Access the device

The most straightforward method is to access the device’s configuration page by entering the default gateway address, typically 192.168.1.1, into your web browser. You will be prompted to enter the device’s password, and in some cases, the username as well. Once you have logged in, navigate to the Firmware Update tab or a similar section. Here, you should be able to see if you have the latest version of the firmware/software installed. Some routers may even provide a button to check for and download the latest version of the software or firmware.

  • router notice

Depending on the router model, you may receive a notification indicating that a new update is available. By accepting the notification, the update will automatically start downloading and installing. In some cases, more advanced routers have the capability to update themselves without any manual intervention from the user. These routers have a built-in mechanism that periodically checks for updates and installs them automatically when a new version is available. This is especially common in carrier models, where the router firmware is designed to self-update to ensure optimal performance and security for users.

  • Check the manufacturer’s website

Another alternative to check if your router is updated is to visit the official website of the manufacturer. On their website, you can find information about the latest firmware or software versions available for each router model. It’s important to note that you may need to visit the manufacturer’s English website or the website specific to your region. By accessing the manufacturer’s website, you can ensure that you have the most recent version of the firmware or software for your router.
