While we may not have complete control over the data we share, there are steps we can take to protect our online privacy. One way is to hide the timestamp of our last connection, a simple and quick process. Here’s how you can do it:
To hide your last connection time on WhatsApp, follow these steps:
a. Open WhatsApp. b. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy. c. Under the “Last Seen” section, you’ll find three options: “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” and “Nobody.” Choose “Nobody” to ensure that no one except you can see your last online activity.
Please note that enabling this option will also prevent you from seeing others’ last seen times.
Instagram combines the settings for showing your last activity and your online status. To hide your last activity on Instagram:
a. Open Instagram. b. Go to your profile by tapping your profile picture. c. Tap the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner. d. Select “Settings.” e. Scroll down to “Privacy.” f. Under “Activity Status,” toggle off the “Show Activity Status” switch.
This step will hide your last activity on Instagram, and you’ll no longer see the activity status of others.
Messenger (Facebook)
Facebook’s Messenger app also offers the option to hide your last active status. Here’s how:
a. Open Messenger. b. Tap your profile picture or avatar. c. Scroll down and select “Preferences.” d. In the “Active Status” section, tap “Active Status: ON.” e. Toggle off the “Active Status” switch.
You can customize which friends can see your active status at all times and which ones can’t.
Telegram
Telegram is known for its privacy features, including the ability to hide your last connection time:
a. Open Telegram. b. Go to “Settings.” c. Navigate to “Privacy and Security” > “Last Seen & Online.” d. Under “Who Can See My Last Seen Time,” you’ll have three options: “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” and “Nobody.” Choose “Nobody” for maximum privacy.
Telegram also allows you to add exceptions if you want specific contacts to see your last seen time.
By following these steps on your preferred messaging apps, you can maintain greater control over your online privacy and choose who can access your last connection information.
