Among the infinity of options that MIUI, Xiaomi‘s own personalization layer allows us, we find several options to protect our information in notifications. We do not always want notifications to be visible to everyone and to avoid this, we will show you the steps that we must follow so that no one can read our messages.
The truth is that the problem for many users of Xiaomi and Redmi has always been getting the notifications to appear on the lock screen or receiving them from all the applications. Luckily there are solutions to receive notifications in MIUI 11 , but this time we want to take control and we are the ones who decide the information that should be shown on the lock screen and the notifications that we do not want to continue receiving.
Choose the notifications you want to receive
First of all we are going to select the notifications by applications that we are going to receive, for this we will have to enter “Settings”, go to the ” Notifications and status bar ” section and then tap on “Application notifications”. We will see a list with all the apps in the system and those that we have downloaded, within each one we will be shown the last image that we show you with various options.
The first option called “Show notifications” will serve to hide all notifications from this application and we will only see them when accessing it. However, we can hide the “Notifications of the lock screen” from the option that we mark in the image, to only receive them when we unlock our Xiaomi mobile. We can also decide if we want to receive them but without sound or vibration alerts, adapting them according to the application in question.
How to hide the content of notifications on Xiaomi
It is likely that we do not worry about hiding the notifications of our Xiaomi mobile, but we do protect our privacy so that no one can read messages or information . To do this the steps are different and we will have to go back to the “Settings”, to then enter the menu called “Lock screen and password”.
From this space we will go to the advanced options and we will have the option called “On the lock screen”. Three options will appear with the following options:
- Do not show notifications.
- Show all notifications and their content.
- Show all notifications but hide their content.
With the option to show all notifications but hide the content, we can see that we have several WhatsApp messages, emails or even calls, but who the sender is will not appear until we access the mobile phone with our security method.
