Motorola Diagnostic
Before proceeding with various manual solutions, you should take advantage of Motorola‘s own tool to locate errors on your devices and try to correct them . Device Help or Moto Help, is a pre-installed program on the brand’s terminals.
Among its options we will find Device Diagnostics. Pressing will perform a test on the most important elements of the area, including sensors and connections. In this way, if there is a problem with the GPS, they will be revealed to us in seconds and we can act accordingly with the steps set by the application.
Motorola GPS does not connect
Restart the mobile
It is the first step that we must take when we will not be able to connect or take the GPS signal . Restarting the mobile will allow it to be released from any file or affliction that may be interfering with the correct connection of the GPS. For this we leave the power button pressed and click on “Restart”
Turn GPS on and off
It is something that we do equally with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when we have problems. We will have to slide the quick access bar and disable the GPS. Now we must wait 30 seconds and activate the function again, to see if the problem is solved.
Clear app cache

Remove the cover
It is a classic and one of the main reasons why the GPS fails to connect. If you have a case or shell try removing it and trying again. If it works, it is very possible that this case contains metallic elements that are interfering with the GPS antenna.
GPS does not locate well in Motorola
It is possibly the most classic problem, since the GPS must be connected to the different satellites to offer our precise location. In any case, there are many occasions when the location revealed by the GPS is nowhere near where we are.
Check the date and time
It is very important that our mobile displays the correct date and time, since otherwise the GPS can locate us in a different time use and throw precision errors. To make sure we will have to go to Settings / System / Date and time and then check the option “Automatic date and time”. Once the GPS is done it should work correctly.
High precision mode
Likewise, we may need to help GPS make a more accurate location. For this we can activate the High Precision mode from the Settings / Security and screen lock / Privacy / Location / Accuracy of the location. Calibrate the compass
Among the large number of sensors that our mobile phone has, the compass plays an important role so that the GPS can locate us and know when we are heading north and when we are heading south. If it is not calibrated, we can hardly get to the desired place. Some Motorola mobiles have a compass app installed as standard, so you can enter and calibrate it in seconds . Among your options, we will be able to restart or download A-GPS data regularly to get faster and more accurate locations.
Update your mobile
Keeping our Motorola updated is always synonymous with having all the fixes up to date. On many occasions, the patches released on the Moto fix GPS malfunctions or other connectivity. To check that we are up to date we go to Settings / System / System Updates and look for updates. If we have any pending, and once updated, we will have to test if the problem has disappeared.
