How to Change the Screen Resolution on Huawei Phones

Our mobiles have more and better hardware capabilities. One of the most striking has occurred in the increase in screens. However, if we go down a notch in this capacity, we see that almost any mid-range smartphone offers a FullHD + screen resolution, while it is a classic that the entry-level terminals continue to sport an HD + resolution. Huawei phones with EMUI allow the user to take control of this ability, as it can be beneficial on certain occasions.

The answer is yes, in that the autonomy of our mobile will be the first to notice the change for the better. By default, Huawei phones have a Smart Resolution mode activated , which automatically lowers the screen resolution to save battery life. However, as with automatic brightness, no one better than we can know when is the best time to change the resolution. Changing the resolution has no effect on the applications in terms of their usability, but a lower quality will be perceived in some content if we change it down, while we will notice that the battery will last longer than usual.

How it is modified

To be able to change the screen resolution, we will have to enter the Settings menu and click on “Screen and Brightness” . Once inside, we will have to go down until we find the “Screen resolution” section. Upon entering we will see that Smart Mode is activated by default. In this menu, we can deactivate this function and manually select those resolutions that the screen of our Huawei supports. In the example above we see the options of a Huawei P Smart 2019, which supports HD + (1560 x 720 pixels) and FHD + (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution.

Is it worth the change?

Depending on the use that each user of their mobile, it may be more or less worth the change. If you are one of those who spends the day browsing the internet, on social networks, entering applications like WhatsApp and occasionally playing non-demanding games, it may be worth trying the lower resolution . If, on the contrary, yours is the multimedia contents of streaming platforms, you play demanding titles and you use the camera very often for photos and videos, it may be better to leave things as they are.
