The Apple ID is something like an identity card to be able to access Apple services on your devices. That is why it is of utmost importance to know everything about it, and in this post what we tell you is how you can change the Apple ID of your iPhone or iPad. The steps to follow are extremely simple, so you will not have any problem.
Information and data of each Apple ID
Each Apple ID account has certain associated data associated with it that you should know. For this we recommend going to the Settings of your iPhone or iPad and clicking on your name at the top. Once inside this section you will see the following information:
- Name, telephones, mail: this section contains the name of your Apple account, the telephone number and associated email account. Also here you will find the possibility to receive announcements, recommendations and more about Apple products and services.
- Password and security: by entering here you will not only be able to change your password, but you will also be able to find useful information about which apps use your Apple ID, which is your trusted phone and you will be able to activate double factor authentication to give more security to your account.
- Payment and shipping: the payment methods that you have included in your iPhone or iPad, such as the cards that you have in Apple Pay. Also here are the billing addresses.
- Subscriptions : extensive section in which you can manage the services and applications to which you have subscribed.
- iCloud: all applications and services (native and third-party) that store information in your account and synchronize with other devices.
- iTunes and App Store: Settings for downloading content from iTunes and the App Store.
- Search: Apple device search service settings when a device is lost.
- Configure “In Family”: management of the Apple ‘family’ that you can configure, being able to share purchases and downloads with other users.
- Device list: you will find all the devices in which you have logged in with your Apple ID, and you can unlink any of them from this section.
Change Apple ID
You will wonder the reason why we have explained the previous sections to you and that is that you should know them because they are all associated with the Apple ID with which you have logged in to your iPhone or iPad. The fact of changing accounts could cause you to lose information and data , although later you can manually associate data and information to the new account again.
Change associated email account
If you simply want to change your email associated with the Apple ID, you will not lose data . You will simply change your email account and that information will be linked to a new email, having to be the one you use to log in to each Apple device. To do this you must go to Settings> Your name> Names, phones, email and click on “Edit”. Once this is done you can delete the current email account and add a new one.
Log out and start with another account
If you want to delete the Apple ID information from your iPhone or iPad, you can do it by logging out and starting with another account. The steps to follow are very simple, having to go to Settings> Your name and click on “Close session” . Once you do this you will be prompted for the password.
Once you have logged out, you can log in with another account. That way what will be synchronized is the data you have in that second Apple ID and if you do not have anything associated with it, you can start synchronizing data that you have on the device.
