Although we all know Wallet, it is possible that there are some functions that you do not know or that you do not know how they really work. One of them is that you can add tickets to events such as concerts or museums and boarding passes to planes or trains, as well as bus tickets. As its name suggests, Wallet is a wallet created by Apple in which you can store your credit cards to be able to pay with your iPhone or Apple Watch, without having to remove the physical card from the wallet. It was a great advance and there are more and more users who day after day pay in stores from Wallet. But the fact is that this app, in addition to allowing you to pay with your mobile, allows you to save many other things, such as train tickets or concert tickets.
This is what you need to do to add the passes
To add boarding passes or any other type of pass to Wallet, you have to follow a series of fairly simple steps that we explain below:
- Open the app, email, notification, or other communication that contains your boarding pass, ticket, or other pass.
- Tap Add to Portfolio.
- Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
- If necessary, tap Add in the top right corner.
If you don’t see an option to add your boarding pass, ticket, or other pass to the app, contact the vendor or company that issued them to make sure they’re compatible with Wallet. When you add a boarding pass, ticket, or other pass to the Wallet app on iPhone, it’s automatically added to the Wallet app on your paired Apple Watch as well . This way you will have the card on both devices without having to do anything else.
To use these cards you will not need much, since by default they will appear on the lock screen as a notification that you will not be able to delete until the plane has taken off, which will disappear automatically. If you don’t want this to appear, you can change it in the app settings. To open the boarding pass or pass you want, the first thing you will have to do is unlock your iPhone and access your Wallet. Once in the app, you will have to click on your default payment card to be able to see your other cards. Two groups are automatically generated, one for credit cards and the other for supermarket loyalty cards, boarding passes and concert tickets. Select the one you need to be able to scan it in the reader.
Finally, to share boarding passes or passes, you have to follow these steps. But first keep in mind that you can only share these cards with other iPhone or Apple Watch users:
- On iPhone, open the Wallet app.
- Tap the pass or ticket you want to share.
- Tap the More button.
- Tap the Share button.
If you don’t see the share icon, it means the seller or business that issued the pass or ticket hasn’t enabled sharing in the Wallet app.
