What is DC Dimming?
It is a new functionality that is reaching some users on different mobiles from different manufacturers. And since the application of this type of characteristics is not usually very homogeneous by the manufacturers, each one is applying it in their own way. And some Realme mobiles already have this functionality. This technology basically regulates the power that reaches the screen , the electricity that is supplied, altering the relationship between voltage and current . It is a way to reduce the brightness of the screen by reducing the power and energy used in it. What is achieved in this case is a better adaptation to the light that surrounds us, reducing the brightness in a more gradual and natural way, since the energy that enters the panel is limited and also its consumption is reduced.
The main difference is that when the brightness is low, traditional display technology constantly turns the display on and off. With this method, the screen reduces its brightness by entering less energy and in a constant way, without alterations, so the result is that the flickering of the screen is reduced when there is a reduced brightness. Of course, from Realme they warn us that this functionality can generate some display problems, as well as with automatic brightness.
How active?
Logically Realme warns us that this mode can create some problems, simply because at the moment it is only an experimental functionality that is within Realme Lab , so you can activate it:
- Enter the settings of your Realme
- Access “Realme Lab”
- Click on “DC attenuation”
- Activate the functionality
Now it is you who decides whether or not you are interested in keeping this mode active, which by the way, is not available on all Realme mobiles, since it is an experimental function that must reach Realme Lab first, and if users like it , it will reach everyone.
