Xiaomi has already presented the Redmi Note 12 a few weeks ago, but the Chinese firm is expected to launch another device in the family shortly. There are many who say that the new member of the range would be the best of all those presented so far, and that, as seen in the IMEI database, it would receive the name of Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
And what does this have to do with the future new member of the POCO X5 series? Very easy. The leak also indicates that the phone will also be launched under a different name outside of China and as per Xiaomiui findings, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will be launched under the POCO brand in other countries such as Spain.
This would be the POCO X5 GT
The post indicates that the smartphone may be officially called POCO X5 GT in international markets. Also, the phone will run the MIUI 14 interface based on Android 13, which we already know from previous reports. This would be one of the big differences with the current models of the series presented this week, since the POCO X5 5G works with MIUI 13, and the Pro model with MIUI 14, but based on Android 12.
According to previous reports, this phone from the Chinese brand will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset . This processor will be combined with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, thus doubling what we can see in the current Pro model of the brand. In addition, this device will have a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a real refresh rate of 120Hz, so there would be no big changes here with the current models.
To maintain the security of user data, this device will be equipped with a fingerprint sensor that will be placed under the screen and not on the lock button as in the Pro model. This particular device would do without the main sensor that we have already seen in the best of the POCO X5 released so far, so it will come with a triple camera system on the rear , made up of a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP secondary sensor and a tertiary sensor of 2 MP, the latter two being an Ultra Wide Angle and a Macro.
Last but not least, this smartphone will be powered by a 5500 mAh capacity battery with support for 67W fast wired charging. This represents a growth of 500 mAh that could increase the autonomy of the smartphone, compared to its little brothers, around two hours. The load remains unchanged, yes.
It has been the firm itself, through its Indonesian division, who has recently announced that it will present POCO X5 GT at some point in the coming weeks. What we don’t know is if it will coincide in time and space with the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo from whom, as it seems to be confirmed, it would inherit a large part of its specifications and features.
We will know soon.
