Huami is the key piece
Although we know Amazfit because it is the name of the brand in charge of giving life to the watches that are linked to Xiaomi, it belongs to Huami. And now we can talk about a link that began with the great expansion of both and that has led them to grow together.
While Xiaomi has been in charge of manufacturing many smartphones, the Huawei company has done the same with accessories, watches and home automation. At the moment in which the Chinese giant approved one of those products, it put them up for sale on its website in China and distributed them among the stores endorsing the product. This is what happened with Amazfit, the watches that have ended up gaining independence for their results.
Given the good results of Amazfit in markets such as Spain, the brand decided to come to our country on its own, leaving Xiaomi aside. That is why the firm itself later had to develop its own watches such as the Mi Watch or Mi Watch Color.
To make the divorce between Amazfit and Xiaomi more evident, a new app called Zepp with functions similar to Mi Fit was launched. In this way, the brand wanted to take a parallel path and continue creating on its own. The Mi Band 5 was another piece of evidence, given that the Huami company itself promoted the Amazfit Band 5 model to compete in a market as interesting as that of our country, adding an extra as important as blood oxygen and the use of Alexa .

Once it was clarified that they are not and have never been the same, they only took advantage of the moment to be collaborating partners. The bond that has ended up leading to success is breaking.
