And it is that just a few hours ago, one of the software giants such as Microsoft, announced its plans to eliminate Adobe Flash Player . This is something that will be carried out in the company’s own browsers and operating systems. This is a topic that has been talked about for a long time, we refer to the disappearance of this Adobe standard.
Microsoft explains how it will remove Flash from its products
This way administrators of teams who want to completely remove Flash components in Windows, will be able to do so starting this fall . But this is something that shouldn’t catch almost anyone by surprise. The reason for this is that Adobe itself already announced in 2017 that it would withdraw Flash Player in December 2020 . Thus, as already said, the company would stop releasing updates for the program and would stop distributing the player as such.
Those of you who remember, this component of Adobe was an important part of the Internet , a few years ago. However with the advances in technology and the problems of the standard, things have changed a lot. That is why at the moment it could be said that Flash is obsolete. It is true that there are still websites that continue to use Flash, but there are fewer and fewer. And is that Flash is no longer used as widely as in its glory days.
In addition, it is not only Microsoft that is ending all this, but other firms such as Mozilla or Google have also announced their plans to remove Flash from their products. But that’s not all, as Adobe will remove Flash downloads from its site after end of support, revealing that Flash content will be blocked from running.
How to remove Flash from your computer right away
Now it is Microsoft’s turn, as we mentioned. We say this because it is now that the company explains its plans to eliminate all of this in its products. This is where the browsers Internet Explorer, Edge Classic and the new Edge Chromium come into play. In this way you will already be prepared for when all this is done officially in just a few months. Keep in mind that Flash will not receive updates from January 2021 , so it will become a serious source of vulnerabilities. Additionally, Flash downloads and related resources will no longer be hosted on Redmond’s servers.
What’s more, Microsoft will make available to its millions of users, an update for the removal of Adobe Flash Player. It will upload it to its own official Updates Catalog from autumn 2020. With this, the aim is to facilitate as much as possible the elimination of these components from our PCs. This will be sent to compatible devices through Windows Update and in principle it will be optional. Later the update for the removal of Adobe Flash Player will be included as part of the cumulative updates for the operating system.
