How to protect and hide photos on Xiaomi
To start hiding photos on Xiaomi phones, the first thing we have to do is go to the native gallery application, which is already installed with our Xiaomi mobile. When accessing it we will have to go to an album and select one or more photos. Then we will have to click on the “Add to album” button and choose the “Private album” option. - Here we will have to obligatorily activate the use of Xiaomi Cloud.
- Then we will have to use an already created or new Xiaomi account, something that will be done automatically if we already have it on the smartphone.
In addition, to protect our photos in MIUI 12 , the protection system that we have configured will be automatically established, be it a pin, pattern or the fingerprint reader. This will prevent someone from accessing the photos knowing the method to use it.
To open the private folder we will only have to enter Gallery> Albums and slide down. Then it will ask us for the security method and we can see all the photos or videos.
Protect files in MIUI 12
There are times when photos or videos are not what you are concerned about and we have a file to protect , at which point Xiaomi has a new solution for us again. What we will do in this situation is access the Files app that we already have on our mobile. Inside we will have to touch on the drop-down menu and choose the option “Private files”.
The first time it will notify us that the same security method that we have used before in the photos in the gallery will be used and later we can choose from the directory, any file from our Xiaomi mobile. Every time we want to access it will ask us for the MIUI security method.
