Goodbye to Amena: Orange Will Migrate Customers from September

Goodbye to Amena

It has finally come true. Orange confirmed last February that it was working on a restructuring of its brands, where they were going to simplify them and focus on the main ones, although they had nothing 100% decided. Thus, of the five they had, they were expected to stay at a maximum of three, and there was even talk of two. Now, the operator is beginning to report Amena’s disappearance.

Orange, Jazztel, República Móvil, Simyo and Amena . Those were the five brands the operator started the year with, and they’re finally going to stick with a maximum of three by the end of the year. The internal restructuring began in February, and the first movement we met in May with the integration of República Móvil in Simyo since June .

Amena customers will migrate to Orange

Now, as of September 13 , Amena customers will begin to migrate to Orange . In addition, on September 1, 2021, the new rates will cease to be contracted. This has been announced by Orange and is communicating it via email to the operator’s clients, in a process that will be carried out gradually until the end of the year. Each client will receive an email and an SMS with the specific date of the change between one month and two weeks before it takes place.

Regarding the conditions of the rates, these will be maintained according to what the users had contracted, paying the same as until now. In the month of the change, two invoices will be received, one from Amena and the other from Orange, but the amount that both invoices will add up will be the equivalent of the current invoice.

What is not going to be maintained is the accumulation of gigabytes by seniority, where the operator gave 1 GB more each month for each year that they were with them. However, the available gigs in each tariff will increase by 4 GB for all users to compensate. In turn, users will also be given access to 5G coverage .

User rates will be renamed with respect to current prices, where, for example, the 4 GB rate (5 GB in promo right now) will be renamed Rate 6.95 . The Amena rates will not be available for new hires in Orange, but additional lines may be added for Amena with Orange with a 20% discount. Therefore, if you unsubscribe from Amena, you will not be able to have those rates again. You can also hire fiber up to 1 Gbps and television .

The change process will be done automatically and without the user having to do anything. There will be no SIM change or loss of service at any time.

Orange wants a rate for each type of user

The restructuring of Orange is very clear. Orange will remain as a premium brand with the most complete rates. Jazztel , for its part, will focus on the value for money segment , and Simyo will be oriented to the low cost with the most competitive rates. With this restructuring, the operator wants to simplify its offer and attack all market segments, offering rates that adapt to the demands of all users.

With the disappearance of Amena , this is the second time that the operator has been charged to the brand after its acquisition in 2005, and later returned to life in 2012. The integration made a lot of sense, since for example the user panel is practically identical to the Orange one for a long time.

In the case of doubts, you can contact Amena customer service until the moment of migration (900 900 705), and later with 1470 when it becomes part of Orange.
