How to Gain Storage and Free up Space on Huawei Mobile

It can happen too easily, especially if you have an Android phone with less than 128GB of storage – one day, you try to install a new game or a new app and you can’t. Then the dreaded message that we all avoid facing appears: You have run out of space.

Don’t face the tedious moment of manually deleting your photos and videos on your Hauwei mobile, transferring all the data to the computer or, directly buying a new mobile, you can always use some of these tips to save space and get Decent amount of free storage with a couple of gestures.

Use a MicroSD or NMCard

If your mobile supports storage cards, it is something you should have done long ago. Especially models with more limited storage can expand their memory with MicroSD cards (older models) or with the latest NMCards developed by the firm for their most current mobiles.

When configuring them you will see how your internal memory grows exponentially.

Use EMUI Cleanup

One of the best EMUI tricks is that, as with virtually every single Android-based customization layer, we have a built-in tool to help you increase the amount of storage available on your phone. It is easy to find:

  • Access your phone’s settings and select “Storage”. Among other things, you will see information about how much space is in use and, at the bottom, a link to a tool called “Clean”
  • Click on it and the cleaning system will start automatically, managing to free up several GB of space.

  • You will also have the option to analyze other data on your phone that is taking up space on your mobile in an absurd way. This way you can locate files that have never been used, applications that only occupy storage and have not been run more than a couple of times, and residual files from instant messaging applications.

Other Tools

There are other useful tools in the “Storage” section. For example, you can find out how much space each of your applications takes up and, most importantly, know how many of its contents are “eating up the memory” of your Huawei mobile:

  • In “Storage”, click on the text that indicates how much space you have saved. This will take you to a list of all your applications, along with the amount of space each one takes up.
  • Tap the app name to see the space it occupies and decide whether to delete it or not.

Surely, the first ones on the list are the apps you use the most (messaging apps) so you don’t have to delete them. However EMUI allows you to delete the content associated with them such as videos, photos or voice messages.

  • Select the multimedia materials you want to delete based on the storage space you are going to gain on your mobile and click on “Delete”. You should be aware that all of these materials, unless you have backed them up, will not be recovered.
