First Betas of iOS 13.7 and iPadOS 13.7 Now Available

To everyone’s surprise, Apple released yesterday the first beta for developers of iOS 13.7 and iPadOS 13.7, versions that were not expected and that will coexist for the moment with the sixth betas of iOS 14 and other new software. In this article we tell you what’s new in this version.

What do iOS 13.7 and iPadOS 13.7 bring?

Since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, Apple has been one of the companies that has volunteered on many occasions to help as much as possible. Together with Google, they developed an API that has allowed many governments to create their own applications with which to track the main sources of contagion. In Spain, for example, we have the Radar COVID app.

In addition to incorporating some other bug fixes and performance improvements, always present in each new version of iOS, we find news related directly to the aforementioned coronavirus API. An option that was already present in the iOS 14 betas has been added and that allows users to enable notifications of exposure to the virus , something that will be essential to try to stop the second waves of infections that are occurring in territories such as Spain.

When will it be released for all users?

As we said, this beta version has taken us by surprise when we all believed that iOS 13.6.1 would already be the last version before iOS 14. It may arrive earlier than expected for compatible equipment, since being such an advanced version hardly presents errors that force the launch of numerous betas. That is why the next week could come already and even before the end of this one, since this type of movements by Apple are always difficult to decipher.

Cuando sale iOS 14

As for iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and the rest of the software versions presented at WWDC 2020, it seems that we will have to wait for something else. Apple could be about to launch the Apple Watch Series 6 and new iPads, which would happen in the first half of September and could be an indication that the new operating systems are being launched at the same time, since these devices usually launch already with the new version. In any case, we will have to continue waiting for new data to confirm this theory.
