Final Fantasy XIV kicks off its open beta on PS5

We knew that the adaptation of Final Fantasy XIV for PS5 would have to arrive sometime in 2021. These aim to take advantage of the capabilities offered by the latest Sony console at the hardware level and thus deliver a better experience to fans and new users.

The improvements as we say are focused on aspects such as graphic quality and performance. Because what the story is will remain the same as the original title. So if you played it at the time, the reason to do it again is to enjoy a much more detailed and improved image.

This new version of Final Fantasy XIV , Square Enix’s popular MMORPG, comes to PS5 offering three different resolutions that the user can choose based on their own preferences and the screen they use to play. Because it makes no sense to choose the highest if then the resolution of the panel is lower. The opposite case is different because the lower the graphic requirement, the higher the rate of photographers per second will be able to display the console.

The three available resolutions are clear what they are: 4K, 1440p and 1080p. With the exception of the 4K mode that will offer a rate of photographers per second around 40 FPS, both in 1440p and 1080p the game will go to 60 FPS . Therefore, if you are one of those who for a long time who has not tolerated that games go below 60 FPS, you will have to assume that playing at 4K resolution in this title will not be possible.

Along with this we also have that Square Enix has improved sections such as the user interface, originally made at 720p. They also incorporated 3D audio enhancements to make the sound experience richer and more immersive. And when playing games, the advantages of the new controller and its haptic motor will be taken advantage of to obtain better feedback during the game, greater precision with the adaptive triggers and faster loading times that are always appreciated.

Update for free if you have it on PS4

Final Fantasy XIV is in open beta for PS5, but that does not prevent users who have already purchased the game for PS4 from being able to update for free and without any restrictions. They will be able to access the game completely free of charge.

However, if you have never played Final Fantasy XIV and want to do it for the first time, before buying it you should know that until you reach level 60 you can enjoy the free trial version.
