Extreme or classic battery saver? This should always be used on Android

Several generations ago, it began to reach Android phones, a way that allows us to save battery on top of the classic functions that we all knew and that changed the way we use the smartphone. However, not all manufacturers had it available until its arrival with Android 12 and with Android 13, now that it is spreading, it is time for you to really know which option you should use to avoid being cut off.

The most common thing when we have a low battery is that we manually or the system itself, when it reaches 20%, decides to limit the power of the mobile and in a way limit the Internet connection or even Bluetooth, thereby seeking greater autonomy. But this is not always enough and if we are going to have to wait several hours until we can connect the mobile, we need a plan B that is much more effective.

Extreme or classic battery saver

The best mode is the one that saves the most

On a few occasions we will be able to be sure that in a matter of minutes we will connect the mobile to a power point to be able to have power again. For this reason, the best thing we can recommend is to always opt for extreme battery saving , unlike the basic one, this allows us to extend the energy for more than 10 hours, if we practically do not use the mobile. I have been able to verify this first hand on more than one occasion and for this reason it has become my favorite option.

Meanwhile, the classic battery saving mode has not even lasted in similar cases 6 hours. An abysmal difference, which can have consequences. Above all, if we have to go home or need to make an emergency call, we always have to assess which option to choose among Android’s battery-saving functions. I am not the only one who has been fond of extreme savings and therefore, we even have an option to make it our default mode.

To be able to activate the extreme mode or always establish it, we only have to follow a few simple steps on the smartphone:

ahorro bateria extremo android

  1. First of all, we enter the terminal settings.
  2. Then we’ll play on Drums.
  3. Next in Battery Saver.
  4. And finally in Extreme Battery Saver.
  5. In this menu we have to select the ‘When should it be used’ tab
  6. Here we can always establish this mode or select to ask us each time.

You may think that perhaps this limits you a lot with the mobile, but it is exactly designed for that, to make limitations, but not the keys. For example, the tools to make and receive calls will not suffer effects , as well as to send WhatsApp or other types of messages, as long as we do not limit that application.

8 Things Only Extreme Battery Saver Does

If you have not yet tested this option to not consume energy on the mobile and have more autonomy , you may wonder how it differs from the classic mode.

The changes are quite remarkable and you may not like it, although as we have already mentioned, its advantages are much higher than those of the option that has existed for years. So that you know its effects, we show you the differences point by point:

  • Most non-essential applications are paused, from which you can choose at will and we recommend not limiting WhatsApp.
  • Turn off Google Assistant detection, so the ‘Okay Google’ command won’t work
  • It also stops most background processes.
  • Slow down the processor more efficiently.
  • Timeout for screen on is limited.
  • The created access points are stopped.
  • Google Discover is temporarily disabled.
  • The search for WiFi and Bluetooth networks stops.
