Extensity, Chrome Plugin to Organize Extensions

When using the Internet on our computer, we will need a browser to visit our favorite pages. Within the wide range of options that we have, Chrome is, without a doubt, the most popular and used. One of its differential functions is its wide range of available extensions or add-ons that will allow us to customize it and add all kinds of extra functions. In order to manage them to our liking we can use an extension like Extensity , about which we are going to talk to you today.

In general, we install numerous add-ons in Chrome to get better performance and functions. However, many of these extensions are only used occasionally, causing the browser toolbar to fill up quickly and we have difficulty finding what we need. In addition, depending on the number, and the type, of the extensions that we have installed, it is very easy that we are wasting RAM memory, in addition to the constant CPU use of the browser. Ideally, we can easily turn extensions on and off depending on whether we need them or not.

Extensity

Organize extensions and improve Chrome performance with Extensity

To help us we have Extensity, an extension for Chrome designed to help us organize our add-ons efficiently. We can enable, disable or quickly find what we need. This quick access extension will allow us to enable and disable all our add-ons for Google Chrome. We simply have to enable the extension when we want to use it and disable it when we do not want to use it for a while. In addition, we can also launch Chrome applications directly from the list.

The main features of Extensity can be summarized as:

  • It allows us to keep our browser fast by disabling the extensions that we are not going to use immediately.
  • Keeps the toolbar clean.
  • Ideal for collectors of extensions.
  • Enable and disable extensions with just one click.
  • Quick switch between multiple groups of extensions using the Profiles feature.
  • Keeps computers in sync by supporting Chrome Cloud Storage.

Manage Chrome extensions more efficiently

After a simple installation we will check how the add-on takes care of eliminating all the shortcuts and replaces them with its own. In this way, the tool helps us to keep the Chrome interface clean and organized. And most importantly, it makes it possible to charge faster. At the top it has a switch that will allow us to deactivate all of them (something that will be very useful if we have to perform a performance test or errors with some pages).

Extensity, extensiones agrupadas

Not surprisingly, the main idea of this add-on is to give us the ability to quickly enable and disable extensions in Chrome, without it being necessary to access this section from the browser menu. Also, we can not only access the extensions you installed, but it also gives us an easy way to launch applications directly from the list.

Create different profiles according to our needs

One of the most interesting options that Extensity has is the possibility of creating different profiles from its configuration section called “Profiles”. This function allows us to increase our productivity, since it allows us to start Chrome only with a certain number of extensions, so that it is not necessary to load all of them at the same time but we are going to use them. It is possible to create as many profiles as we need and give them descriptive names such as Work, Home, etc.

Extensity crear perfiles

Of course it is possible to add and delete these profiles whenever we want, and they can be enabled or disabled from the Settings menu and pressing the “Save” button. We can also use the search box from where it is possible to easily find any particular extension in a comfortable way, something that can be very useful if we are users who have a high number of add-ons installed in our browser.

Use its Options menu to configure its functions

The application also has its corresponding “Options” section from where you can enable different options for its configuration. It has a section for the design where we can mark if we want to show the header at the top and the search box. It also has the “Applications & Extensions” section so that we can organize how we want the extensions to be displayed. Finally, it has the “Always on” section that allows us to keep the extensions enabled by turning off everything.

Conclusions: is Extensity worth using?

Extensity is a plug-in that can be useful for users who have a wide collection of extensions installed on their Chrome browser. It is a simple way to have them all grouped together and to be able to access them easily, as well as enable or disable them when necessary. It is also interesting for our organization the possibility of creating profiles with which to load only the extensions that we need, being able to switch between them whenever we need it.

Therefore, if we are looking for a solution to keep Chrome clean, but we are not willing to give up all our extensions because they make our lives easier, it does not hurt to try Extensity as it can be useful.

Alternatives to Extensity

If we are looking for an add-on to help us manage all our extensions for Chrome, we suggest some alternatives to Extensity to take into account:

One-click extension manager

With this add-on for Chrome we can see, activate, deactivate and delete all our extensions with ease. It has a search area to search and find installed plugins quickly. It is simple, fast, without background scritches and without annoying ads, being able to disable all the extensions with a single click.

Extension Manager

This add-on for Chrome will allow us to quickly activate or deactivate our browser extensions, for faster and more private browsing. When you deactivate an extension, it will be completely deactivated, unlike the Pause or Deactivate mode of other extensions. Extension Manager is ad-free and does not collect data.

Do you have too many extensions in Chrome? With this complement we can activate and deactivate them in a simple way. We simply have to configure a group of extensions and we will have access with two clicks to enable and disable them all at the same time.
