EnGenius launches new Multigigabit switches with cloud management

The well-known manufacturer EnGenius has today presented some new Multigigabit switches with PoE and some really interesting features. These new PoE switches are aimed at providing the best possible performance to the new Wi-Fi 6 access points, which usually incorporate a 2.5G Multigigabit port so as not to have any kind of bottleneck in the wired network. These new switches are the ideal equipment if you are going to buy access points with cloud management from EnGenius, since they will be integrated into the Cloud perfectly for centralized management of the entire network. Do you want to know the main characteristics of these new models?

Main characteristics of these Multigigabit switches

EnGenius has launched two models of managed switches with cloud management, below, we are going to explain all the technical characteristics of these new models that are so interesting for small and medium-sized companies.

EnGenius ECS2528FP

This new Multigigabit managed switch has a total of 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports for the LAN and a total of 8 2.5G Multigigabit ports . Thanks to the incorporation of these 8 2.5G ports, we will be able to power up to 8 Wi-Fi 6 access points that use this connectivity, in this way, we will not have any kind of bottleneck in the wired network, something very important when we talk about the Wi-Fi 6 standard because it can easily exceed the actual 1Gbps speed provided by Gigabit networks. This switch also has a total of four SFP+ ports at 10Gbps , thanks to these ports we will be able to interconnect several switches in a trunk way so as not to have any type of problem with speed, in addition, the firmware supports link aggregation so we could have a trunk link up to 40Gbps Full-Duplex.

This model has the 802.3at standard or also known as PoE+ , so it is capable of providing up to 30W of power for each of the ports . This switch has a PoE budget of 410W , so we will be able to power a large number of APs or IP cameras easily and quickly.

This managed switch has a switching capacity of 152Gbps, it also has cable tests with ping, tracert, we can see the MAC table and many more advanced configuration options. The management of this equipment can be done locally with the graphical user interface of the firmware, or also through EnGenius Cloud in the manufacturer’s cloud. Thanks to this hybrid administration between Cloud and local we will have the best of both worlds, we will not always need to have an Internet connection for cloud management.

The price of this model is €999 VAT not included, so it is a high-end device as it has Multigigabit ports and PoE+, so it is an expected price for this type of network device. We recommend you access the official website of the switch where you will find all the details.

EnGenius ECS2552FP

This Multigigabit managed switch has a total of 32 Gigabit Ethernet ports for the LAN and a total of 16 2.5G Multigigabit ports . Therefore, we will have twice the number of ports of both speeds than the previous model. Here we can connect a total of up to 16 APs with Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5G Multigigabit port, ideal for covering large areas with wireless coverage. This model also has four 10Gbps SFP+ ports for trunking . Link aggregation options with LACP are also present in this model, so we can create links of up to 40Gbps speed.

This model also has PoE+ with the 802.3at standard, but it increases the PoE Budget reaching a maximum of 740W of power, so we can power a very large number of devices. Regarding the switching capacity, in this case it is 224Gbps.

The characteristics related to the software are exactly the same as the previous model, we have a hybrid management between Cloud and local, with all the usual configuration options of L2+.

The price of this model is €1,599 VAT not included. We recommend you access the official website of the switch for more information.
