The RTX version of Minecraft is not new, but has been available for users to test it since last April. However, Microsoft does not make it entirely easy to download it and run it on any computer, but to do so, you have to carry out a series of steps in which, among other things, we will have to sign up for the program Xbox Insider and also join the Minecraft RTX Beta group.

The first thing to do is sign up as Xbox Insider users. To do this, the first thing will be to download the Xbox Insider Center from the Microsoft Store in Windows 10. We do not have to worry, this app will not register us in the Windows Insider program nor will we download development versions of the operating system or other apps .
Once the app is installed, we open it and authenticate ourselves in it. Once this is done, in the bar on the left we will select ” Insider Content ” to sign up for ” Minecraft for Windows 10 “.
Once inside the Minecraft tab, we click on the “Manage” button . Here we will see a new window like the following one, in which we have to choose that we want to test Minecraft with RTX, the second option.
We click on “Done”, we accept the changes and that’s it. Automatically a Microsoft Store window will open and, from there, we can download Minecraft RTX for Windows 10. When we do, we will be directly downloading the beta version that has this feature.
Once the game is downloaded, we can start enjoying this feature, although we will have to activate it.
Activate RTX in Minecraft for Windows 10
Once the beta RTX for Minecraft for Windows 10 is installed, the first thing we will have to do within the program is download one of the worlds with RayTracing that we can find in the marketplace. There are several worlds already created with ray tracing, so we can choose the one we want (which is free).
Once the map is downloaded, we will start a new game in Minecraft RTX by choosing this world with RayTracing. When the world is generated, we can enter the settings and choose whether or not we want to activate this functionality.
As we can see, there is an impressive difference between using the original graphics and effects to using the ray traced lighting effects. The gaming experience is practically new.
