The free Assassin’s Creed II promotion described here ran in April 2020. It is not a standing offer to claim a new copy today. If you claimed it during the promotion, check the Ubisoft account that received it.
What the original offer covered
Ubisoft’s April 2020 announcement offered the PC game from April 14 to April 17. “Keep it” referred to a copy claimed within that offer, not an indefinitely open claim period.
If you already own the game
- Open the current official Ubisoft launcher and sign in to the account used for the claim or purchase.
- Search your library for Assassin’s Creed II and check filters or hidden entries.
- If it appears, follow the available installation instructions.
- If it is missing, check purchase/claim records and contact Ubisoft support rather than creating another account.
The historical launcher was called Uplay; use Ubisoft’s current official software rather than an old mirror linked by a giveaway article.

Check today’s compatibility
The old minimum specification named Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. That old list doesn’t mean the game is supported on a modern PC, or that you should install an operating system that no longer gets support. Check the game’s current publisher/store guidance and the supported launcher requirements for your PC.
If it fails after installation, check the game files using the launcher’s supported repair option and record the error. Avoid unofficial “pre-activated” copies as a workaround.
