Perhaps the store as such that it offers us is not as extensive as other current ones, but it also has many followers and followers. Where to install games from Origin
Say that for all this we need a username and its corresponding password that will be linked to the account as such. Here we can already navigate through the Origin client store to buy the titles we want. This is something that we achieve from the Store / Explore games section. Here we already find some of the highlights, as well as several categories to narrow the search a bit.
This is a fairly straightforward process, as upon actual purchase, the game will automatically become part of our personal library of titles. Thus, by accessing the section that corresponds to them, we can download it to install it locally on the computer. But of course, each computer and its configuration or specifications is a world. With this, what we want to tell you is that it may be the case that we need to install these games on a specific path or drive . Well, it should be noted that the client himself will allow us to carry this out, let’s see how.
At this point, the first thing we will do is go to the menu at the top of the main interface. Specifically we have to go to the Origin option, where we opt for Application Settings.
This is where we will be able to configure various sections related to customer behavior and its contents . In this way, among other things, we can specify the default path where the library games will be installed. To do this, in the window that appears, we go to the Installations and saved games tab.
Customize the global or individual installation path
Here, specifically in the Games library location section, we can tell the Origin client where we want the games we install to be saved by default. We just have to click on Change folder so that we have the possibility to specify the drive and path to use from now on.
But in the same way, this is something that we will be able to do with each of the titles that we install from here. Therefore, before starting the process itself, the client will show us the default route indicated in the previous step, in case we want to change this game.
In the same way we will see its size, as well as the possibility of creating shortcuts in Windows to this new addition.
Manage download speed
Another of the sections that we must take into account when downloading and installing Origin games on the PC is the Internet connection that we have. We say this because these titles are sometimes large, so they will take a while to download. In the event that we are doing other tasks at the same time, it can affect their performance, especially if they are online.
Therefore, if we are not in a great hurry to download the new game, we can always limit the bandwidth that is going to be used for it. In this way, we can continue working on other things without affecting the performance of the Internet. This is something that we are also going to achieve from the section described above, from the Origin / Settings menu option of the application. But once the new window appears, in this case we go to the Application tab.
This is where we are going to find a section called Download restrictions. Therefore, in it we will see two individual fields that we can customize. It is worth mentioning that the first of them refers to the maximum download speed that the client will reach when we are not playing. At the same time, on the other hand we can also limit the bandwidth that we will use from here when executing the corresponding game.
Download games on Origin in the easiest way
Well, once we have customized the parameters that we have mentioned previously, we can start the download itself. For this we only have to go to the Library section that we see on the left side of the main interface. This is where we will find the titles that we have at our disposal at that time, ready for download.
Once we have selected the game that we want to play at that moment, we will only have to click on it to start the download and installation process. Before that, on the screen we will see both the hours played in the past, and the date of the last time we used it.
