Huawei presented its new mid-range models late yesterday afternoon with which it intends to hit the table. It does so starting from prices below 400 euros for 3 different models of Huawei Nova 7 that, among other features, share compatibility with 5G networks .
In this way we can ensure that the Huawei Nova 7 , Huawei Nova 7 SE and Huawei Nova 7 Pro shape 3 of the cheapest 5G mobiles, not only from Huawei, but from the current mobile phone landscape.
With a perforated screen design to achieve a higher screen-to-body ratio, and a rectangular module for its rear camera, how are the new mid-range smartphones of the Chinese brand similar and different?
Common characteristics in all Nova 7
Curiously, the memory configuration is identical in all models, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, being the size, the processor and the different camera configurations (both main and front) the main changes that we find in all of them.
The Huawei Nova 7, Huawei Nova 7 Pro and Huawei Nova 7 SE also share a 4,000 mAh battery with 40W fast charge technology that allows you to complete a full phone charge in less than two hours. At the connectivity level, despite the differences in their processor, all have compatibility with 5G SA / NSA networks, Asia such as the possibility of using Wi-Fi 6 networks, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and a USB-C type C for the transfer of data.
As expected, all of them work with Android 10 with the EMUI 10.1 customization layer but, unfortunately, none of them has Google services.
Nova 7 differences
The “base” model screen is a 6.53-inch OLED panel with FullHD + resolution and a hole in the upper left corner that accommodates a 32-megapixel front camera with f / 2.0. This screen also houses the fingerprint sensor. This ends up generating dimensions of 160.4 x 74.3 x 7.96 mm and a weight of 212 grams.
The Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro share a Kirin 985 processor and the same quad camera system at the rear made up of a 64 MP main lens with f / 1.8, a wide angle of 8 MP and f / 2.4, as well as a telephoto lens. 8 MP with f / 2.4 and a 2 MP Macro sensor with f / 2.4.
The Huawei Nova 7 5G launches in Midnight Black, Silver, Forest Green, Midsummer Purple, and Honey Red with a starting price of 2,999 yuan (about 390 euros) for the 8GB + 128GB storage version. The high-end model with 8GB of RAM + 256GB of internal memory costs 3,399 yuan (about 439 euros).
The changes of the Huawei Nova 7 Pro
All the specifications of the Huawei Nova 7 (camera and processor) are replicated in this Huawei Nova 7 Pro whose main difference is that the camera’s 8 MP telephoto lens has 5X optical zoom, OIS and, therefore, a smaller aperture of f /3.4
The display maintains resolution and the fingerprint sensor but grows to 6.57 ″ and incorporates a dual 32MP front sensor with f / 2.0 accompanied by an 8MP and f / 2.2 wide angle.
The Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G appears in the same color options with a starting price of 3,699 yuan (about 490 euros.) For the base variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 256GB version will cost 4,099 yuan (just under 550 euros).
New in the Nova 7 SE
In this case we have a 6.5-inch IPS panel with a FullHD + resolution and a hole in the upper left corner with half the resolution of its older brothers, that is, 16 MP with f / 2.0 aperture. In the cheap mobile, the fingerprint reader moves to the side, above the lock button and under the glass we find a Kirin 820 processor with the same RAM and storage configuration as the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro.
The third big change, behind the screen and the processor, is in the camera, which in the Huawei Nova 7 SE is quadruple too but without a telephoto lens. Its setup features a 64 MP f / 2.4 main sensor, 8 MP wide angle, a new 2 MP macro sensor and a 2 MP depth lens.
The cheapest of all the Huawei Nova 7 goes on sale for 2,399 yuan (about 315 euros) for its base configuration of 8 GB and 128 GB of internal memory, and for 3,799 yuan (at the exchange, just over 365 euros ) for the double storage version.
