Slow motion videos are one of the most spectacular features of both Android and iPhone cameras. Being able to stop time, even for a few seconds, gives results that, well captured, can be very professional. However, at a certain moment we may want to watch the video at its normal speed , just as the scene occurred when we were there.
Capturing videos in slow motion or in Slow-Motion , is an attribute that is present in both iPhone and Android. It is true that only the most powerful high-end terminals on the market have the most refined function, but it is easy for terminals less than 300 euros to have this advanced option.
Return to normal speed
In many occasions, the video captured in slow motion remains in our gallery and we will always see it like this, with a preview and end at normal speed and the central part of the video, slowed down to give the spectacular we are looking for the video. Luckily, if we want to see it again at its original speed, we will have the solution at our fingertips on both iPhone and Android.
On iPhone
After we have recorded the video in slow motion, Apple gives us the option to edit the part of the video that will be played in slow motion. This means that all the video can go in slow motion, part of the video or that everything can be played directly at the original normal speed . For this we will have to touch on “Edit” in the slow motion video that we want to edit.
Once inside, we’ll have to use the vertical white lines of the timeline to establish when slow motion starts or ends. Since our goal is that the video is viewed at normal speed , we will have to join the two sliders until they are joined on the same timeline. Then we will save the changes and we will have the video at normal speed.
On Android
In Android the method is nothing different. Keep in mind that each manufacturer that allows recording in slow motion, must allow editing the result in the same way that we have seen on iPhone. Samsung or Huawei phones have this option. In this case and taking Samsung as an example, we will have to go to the Gallery and select the video recorded in slow motion. As with iPhone, when recording in slow motion, the terminal saves metadata to be able to retrieve the recording at normal speed.
In this case, we will also have to click on Edit the video. We will see how an orange switch is displayed, which is used to deactivate the effect in slow motion . But as we’ve seen previously, we also have the square brackets that can be dragged to select the end and beginning of slow motion. Once again we can drag them to join them to deactivate the effect. In both cases, at the end, we will only have to save the video.
Third party help
But since Android is a very big world, in the event that your mobile does not allow you to edit the recorded video in slow motion , you can always use the help of a third-party app that allows you to do so.
