As manufacturers remove the 3.5-headphone jack, audio possibilities are being limited, despite other technologies taking their place. For several generations, Apple iPhones have dispensed with the headphone port, complicating the task of sharing audio.
We live a few days in which it is better to be away from each other, but there is nothing more social than watching a movie on your mobile phone sharing the audio and it is possible, both in stereo. At the moment there are a large number of streaming audio and video platforms, it is very common to want to share the audio with a friend or family member. The classic 3.5mm jack, the famous adapter for two female inputs, could solve our ballot and we could also charge the phone at the same time.
Having a port for everything can stylize our terminal or make it technically less complicated, but it limits some of its options and puts in our hands cumbersome adapters that were not necessary before. How to share audio on iPhone
On old iPhones
If we still have an old-school iPhone , that is, an iPhone 6a, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or earlier , still counters with the 3.5mm jack, which allows us to connect an adapter to listen to two headphones at the same time . These adapters are very low in price and can be easily purchased from portals like Amazon.
On iPhone with iOS 13
If we have iPhones from these models and as long as they are updated to iOS 13 , Apple allows us to share the audio whenever we use the Airpods or any of the compatible Beats headphones . This is the only option available so that two users can listen to the same audio source on a single mobile. The steps to follow are those:
- Both users must have their headphones on
- Now we press the button on the controls “In Play” either in the app we are listening to or on the locked screen
- Click on “Audio Share” under the name of the headphones
- We bring the iPhone closer to our friend’s
- Click on Share Audio on our mobile
- Our friend has to click on “Join” to make the connection.
Control the volume
In addition, we can regulate the volume of each earphone independently, since it does not have to be at the same level. To do this, just press the volume control, and we will see two independent sliders.
Stop sharing audio
To stop joint listening, we will have to press the button on the playback screen , on the locked screen or in the control center. Then we will only have to click on the name of the other user’s headphones to disable the connection.
