Among the most desired mobiles since its launch we find the Samsung Galaxy A51 and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, two terminals that meet what the most demanding are looking for and also offer us a very low price. This mid-range with great capacities allows us to enjoy two mobiles that years ago would seem impossible and now we can enjoy for very little.
The problems will only be in deciding on one or the other, because both models are what many are looking for in the market. Their similarities are great, although there are also differences to take into account. We are going to compare the Galaxy A51 and the Mi 10 Lite in full, section by section with the intention that we find the ideal mobile for each pocket.
Design and displays
The design of both terminals draws our attention in the rear camera due to the similarities, something that is not maintained on the front. The Galaxy A51 opts for the hole in the screen and the Mi 10 Lite keeps the notch in the form of a drop of water. In terms of dimensions, everything is very similar, since we will have a practically traced weight with just 10 grams of difference. The plastic material is found in both models.
The screens also have almost traced dimensions , with 6.5 inches and 6.57 inches respectively for the Galaxy A51 and the Mi 10 Lite from Xiaomi. We have an Amoled screen in both cases, which allows us to enjoy sharp colors and Always On Display functions. The Full HD + resolution is also shared on these phones.
Processors with a lot to say
In this section come the big differences, although we must also bear in mind that the Galaxy A51 can be found in a version with 5G and without it. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite has the well-known Snapdragon 765G, which makes the Xiaomi mobile more powerful than the Exynos 980 of the 5G version and Exynos 9611 of the version without 5G.
As for the options we have in each of them, the Galaxy A51 is with 4GB of RAM + 64 or 128 GB of memory, to further complete the version with 5G we will have 6 GB + 128 GB. Xiaomi offers us several options with 6 GB of RAM + 64 or 128 GB and also 6 GB of RAM + 128 or 256 GB, both in Samsung and Xiaomi with the same technology for RAMLPDDR 4X memories. To expand the memory, only Samsung devices offer us the option of introducing a Micro SD.
Cameras almost tied
In the cameras section, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and Galaxy A51 share a main sensor with 48 Mpx, although the one that Samsung offers us is signed by itself and will be able to give us better results in the Galaxy A51 . The second is the wide angle where the 12 Mpx of the Galaxy A51 also exceeds the 8 Mpx of Xiaomi. The third and fourth lenses are the macro and the one that collects information for the portrait mode, of 5 Mpx in all of them except the portrait in Xiaomi.
Ahead, the 32 Mpx dedicated in Samsung improves to the 16 Mpx of the Xiaomi camera. For video recording the two tie, with electronic stabilizer, 4K recording, magnification and advanced settings based on AI.
Battery and connectivity
The strong point is in the 5G technology that both smartphones have, being able to choose in the Galaxy A51. To this we add Bluetooth 5.0, fingerprint reader under the screen, NFC technology, audio jack and GPS among other basic advantages. The battery is much larger in the Galaxy A51 with 4500 mAh that surpasses the version with 4G and its 4,000 mAh, but it also beats the 4160 mAh of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite. The fast charge of 20W is better however in the Mi 10 Lite, compared to 15W from Samsung.
One UI vs MIUI
With the One UI 2.5 version and thinking about One UI 3.0, the Galaxy A51 are not far behind. Meanwhile Xiaomi with MIUI 12 in this model offers us the latest advantages and its redesign. These are not models that are going to be left behind at the first turn and both systems work correctly. With a more European Samsung design and something more Chinese Xiaomi, we will have to choose our favorite.
Prices and purchase decision
The price for which we find the 128 GB Galaxy A51 without 5G is 257 euros, a much better price than any other. For the Samsung model with 5G we go up to 329 euros, but with a mobile that will last much longer with the best technology. Finally the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite with 5G we can take it for 295 euros in the option with 64 GB.
In our case, we would choose to buy the Galaxy A51 with or without 5G , depending on what we want. It is a more balanced model for screen, battery and cameras. In addition, the price shows us that it is much more affordable by offering us the 128 GB option so that we do not have problems after a few months.
