In recent years the mid-range has undergone a spectacular change. What was previously understood as a cheap mobile with certain limitations has now been transformed into mobile phones with high-end functions at a reasonable price. This is the case of the Redmi Note 10 and the Realme 7 , which we compare today to see which is a better buy right now.
Redmi mobiles have recently arrived on the market, and their evolution through the mid-range is certainly no longer a bed of roses, since along the way they will find consolidated alternatives such as Realme.
Screen and dimensions
We are facing two mobile phones of similar size, in the case of the Redmi with a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED screen and with Full HD + resolution. The aspect ratio is 20: 9, and the refresh rate stays at the usual 60Hz. For its part, the Realme 7 has a screen of a similar size, 6.5 inches, in this case LCD , with Full HD + resolution and an aspect ratio of 20: 9.
Of course, a point in its favor is the 90Hz refresh rate. On its dimensions, the Redmi Note 10 is more compact, thin and light, with dimensions of 160.5 x 74.5 x 8.3 mm and weight of 178 grams. While the Realme measures 162.3 x 75.4 x 9.4mm and weighs 196 grams.
Performance and memory
In this section we have different characteristics, starting with the processor. In the case of the Redmi there is a last generation Snapdragon 678 and 11nm. While the Realme 7 has a 12nm MediaTek Helio G95 , which we saw precisely in the Redmi Note of the previous generation.
A Snapdragon that outperforms the MediaTek, while the latter outperforms the former. The Redmi comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage via microSD cards. For its part, the Realme comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, also expandable.
Camera
In the photographic aspect we have a lot of equality in the back, with four sensors for the two phones. They both share a 48-megapixel main sensor .
In the two phones this is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For its part, the Redmi has a 13-megapixel selfie camera and the Realme a 16-megapixel one. Regarding video recording, both record at maximum 4K resolution at 30fps .
Battery, connectivity and software
Another very similar aspect is that of the battery, since in this case they both have a 5000mAh , while fast charging is similar. With 33W for the Redmi and 30W for the Realme , a power with which they can be charged to 100% in just over an hour and get 50% of the battery in just 25 minutes. Regarding connectivity, the two offer Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, FM Radio and USB type-C connector.
In the case of the Redmi there is an infrared port, while the Realme has NFC to be able to make mobile payments in establishments. Both have a side fingerprint reader, integrated into the power button. In addition, the Xiaomi is compatible with Hi-Res high resolution audio. Regarding the software, the Redmi arrives with Android 11 under MIUI 12 , while the Realme is waiting to update to Android 11 and Realme UI 2.0 in the coming weeks.
Price and conclusion
We are facing two spectacular mobiles for the prices they have. We can now buy the Redmi Note 10 for 199.99 euros, while the Realme 7 has a price of around 209 euros. And the truth is that each one has its factors to highlight. In the Redmi with an AMOLED screen , a more efficient, more compact, lighter processor and a battery with a somewhat faster charge, plus we still have two whole years of updates ahead of us.
In the Realme, the 90Hz of its screen stands out , as well as a processor that as a whole is somewhat more powerful and very important, it has twice the RAM with 8GB. Therefore at the same price, everything depends on your preferences. If 90Hz is unavoidable, go for the Realme, if you want a more complete mobile as a whole with an AMOLED screen, yours is the new Redmi.
