Today we have attended one of the most anticipated presentations of recent years. The new Samsung Galaxy S20 are already official and with them, the doubts of many users about which model to buy. That is why we have made one of our classic comparatives to see all the differences between the three models.
Gone are the times when a single model was presented. Now, the user must decide between several members of the same family, where the technical differences can become substantial, in the same way as the price that separates some and others in a staggered way . This is what happens with the new Galaxy S20, since they have neither the same screen, nor the same battery or cameras.
Display and resolution
If we look at the screens, we see that all models without exception reach the resolution WQHD +, that is, a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels and a common ratio of 20: 9. All of them have HDR10 + technology to make colors and black tones, something that will have a special impact when we are consuming multimedia content such as movies. Interestingly, the wider pixel density is offered by the standard Galaxy S20, with its 563 dpi compared to the 525 of the S20 + and the 515 dpi of the S20 Ultra.
However, we see that the size of the screen grows in size as we upload the model. The Galaxy S20 is the most compact with its 6.2 inches, compared to the 6.7 inches of the Galaxy S20 + and the huge 6.9 inches of the Galaxy S20 Ultra . This also causes some differences between the dimensions of all the models, which is also derived from the size of the battery, as we will see later.
Weight and size
As for the dimensions, it will be very different to carry a Galaxy S20 in your pocket than a Galaxy S20 Ultra. The Galaxy S20 maintains a weight of 163 grams and 7.9 millimeters, for the 186 grams and 7.8 millimeters of the Galaxy S20 +. Ultra variant is in every way, and its larger size makes it reach 220 grams and 8.8 millimeters thick . Apart from the technical improvements of the Galaxy S20 Ultra in aspects such as the camera, there will be many users who may find these dimensions and weight excessive.
The same Exynos in all
Under the hood there is no possible competition, since all the Galaxy S20 move to the son of the Exynos 990 house brand, a fast, reliable and efficient chip that we have seen in the Galaxy Note series. All have RAM of the LPDD5 type and internal storage with UFS 3.0 technology, the fastest to speed up reading and writing. We can choose 8 or 12 GB of RAM in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 +, while the Galaxy S20 Ultra part of the 12 GB of RAM and has the first version of the story with 16 GB of RAM.
As for internal storage, all have a 128 GB variant, but only the Galaxy S20 + and the S20 Ultra offer a variant with 512 GB. The good news is that all three can expand this memory by up to 1 TB using microSD cards.
Cameras
In the cameras section there are also important differences, the Galaxy S20 Ultra being the one that makes the biggest difference. Both the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 + have 12 + 12 + 64 megapixel sensors and allow 3X and 30X hybrid optical zoom through digital zoom. Only the Galaxy S20 + has an additional fourth sensor for depth-of-field work, called DeepVision.
But the big difference in this field is the Galaxy S20 Ultra with its main sensor of 108 megapixels . In addition, the Super Resolution Zoom function, which in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 + reaches 30X, reaches up to 100X in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Another huge difference is found in the selfie sensor, which is housed in the upper center of all models, and which reaches 10 megapixels in the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 +. The Galaxy S20 Ultra makes a difference again reaching 40 megapixels in the front camera.

Battery and OS
All models offer compatibility with 5G networks, although the Galaxy S20 and S20 + have LTE variants. They also have a fingerprint sensor on the screen, as well as Android 10 with Samsung’s OneUi layer. Where we do find differences again is in the battery, which goes “in crescendo” as we increase in screen size. The Galaxy S20 has 4,000 mAh, 4,500 mAh the Galaxy S20 + and 5,000 mAh the Galaxy S20 Ultra. All have fast charging, wireless charging and reverse charging. However, once again the Galaxy S20 Ultra makes the difference with respect to its brothers because it has a fast charge of 45W, compared to the 25W of the S20 and S20 +.
Prices
As happens year after year, as we climb the technical step between one model and another, we will have to pay more. Today we are no longer afraid that a high-end terminal will far exceed 1,000 euros. What is most surprising, perhaps, is that the standard version does not reach that limit and can be purchased below 900 euros. We must also bear in mind that there is a difference of no less than 650 euros between the standard Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20 Ultra with greater capacity.
