In recent times Samsung has placed special emphasis on the mid-range, providing them with technologies that sometimes make us doubt if it does not reach the highest range. Two of the latest models presented and that offer the best relationship are the Samsung Galaxy M51 and the Galaxy A71 , terminals that we are going to compare to help you choose between them so that your purchase is a success.
There is practically not a single detail that escapes any of them, although they stand out at different points. Before starting we recommend that you be clear about what you are looking for, for example more battery, so that as we get to know the sections you know for yourself which one is made for you. Finally, to help you choose, we are going to decide on the points that stand out on each smartphone so as not to fail with our choice.
Design and screen, the great resemblance
When we see them from the outside, it may seem that they are twin brothers, as they include the same rear camera module and a front hole also located in the center. The materials in which they are built also match, with plastic as the highlight. But things change when talking about weight, where the Galaxy M51 is heavier , reaching 213 grams for the battery that we will later know.

As for the screen, they share a 6.67-inch Amoled panel , which is only slightly increased in the A71 to reach 6.7. The density of pixels per inch is also at 390 for both, with a Full HD + resolution that allows us to enjoy our favorite content. Both mobiles are protected by scratch resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Snapdragon in Samsung’s mid-range
Although it is usual to find its own Exynos processor, in these two models Samsung has opted for the Snapdragon. The model is the Snapdragon 730 in both , although for the last to arrive, the Samsung M51 we have the Snapdragon 730G that offers an extra power that will come in handy if we want the mobile to play games or demanding processes. In both cases the clock frequency is 2.2 GHz, coupled with the Qualcomm Adreno 618 GPU.

Its configuration options are varied and we can get both in two options. They also coincide in the memory options , with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM along with 64 or 128 GB of internal memory. The technology they use is also the same, UFS 2.1 and LPDDR4X RAM. There is also no lack of space on the tray to add a MicroSD card and expand the memory if necessary.
What differences are there in the cameras?
Taking a look at the specifications of the Galaxy A71 and its opponent the M51 we can think that there is no change in the cameras. They coincide in megapixels and also in aperture in its four main lenses, but the same happens with the 32 Mpx front camera. Although however, by being strict we find out that the lens changes by the manufacturer and therefore in results.

The main lens of the M51 is the Sony IMX682 Exmor RS which just outperforms the results of the Samsung Bright S5KGW1. In the 12 Mpx wide angle, 5 Mpx portrait mode and 5 Mpx macro there are no changes. For selfies, the M51’s camera narrowly wins again with the Sony IMX 616 lens and behind it would be the Samsung S5KGD1. Video recording is very similar, with electronic stabilizer, 4K maximum resolution and autofocus.
Battery and connectivity
We reached a key point to choose one smartphone or another, because with 4500 mAh the Galaxy A71 offers us an autonomy that can reach a full day without problems, although the 7000 mAh of the M51 are unsurpassed for most mobile phones on the market. The fast charge on the other hand is 25W in both models, although it must be taken into account that the M51 will take longer to charge. As for connectivity, there is no lack of detail, NFC, audio jack and 4G along with Bluetooth 5.0. The fingerprint reader changes position, on the side for the M51 and under the screen on the A71.

One UI alongside Android 10
For now, there are two smartphones inverse in Android 10 along with One UI 2.5, but nevertheless the two terminals are under the umbrella of three years of Samsung updates . This will allow us to enjoy One UI 3.0 and Android 11 with all its news very soon. In both terminals we will have the same options and added functions.

Prices and purchase recommendation
Since the differences are minimal inside, the same will also happen in the price of the Galaxy A71 and M51. On the one hand we find the Galaxy M51 slightly more expensive, for 342 euros specifically and the A71 for 339 euros. This leaves us a difference of just 3 euros , which will not be key to the decision between buying one or the other.
Taking into account everything we have seen, it seems clear that if we want a mobile with more battery, the M51 is the ideal option even ahead of many other mid-range on the market. On the contrary, the Galaxy A71 is the mobile that gets everything right and we can not fault it. If we look at the detail, the M51’s camera is a little better and its processor too, so buying the M51 would be the best , also take us more battery.
