Comparison Between the OnePlus Nord CE 5G vs Samsung Galaxy A52 5G

These two mobile devices that we are going to put face to face to find out which one is better, have been presented this year to offer a boost to the current mid-range. On the one hand, we find the recently released OnePlus Nord CE 5G , the latest model of the Asian firm to arrive in Spain and, on the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G that has brought a breath of new air to its catalog.

And although we are facing two mobiles that have a lot to offer us, there can only be one clear winner. For this reason, it is time to compare it to be able to get rid of doubts and know which of the two smartphones surpasses the other. Although it will be a task that these two terminals will make it difficult for us, since we will be able to get enough similarities between the two and very few differences.

Do we need a 5G mobile today?

We are facing two mobile devices that share a feature that many users already look for when buying a new smartphone, 5G connectivity. But is it really necessary on a mobile today? Although there is no doubt that it is a great improvement in connection speed, in coverage within buildings and even in interconnection with other devices, the truth is that a series of aspects must be taken into account before to assess whether it deserves the sorrow.

First, we must assess whether we already have the possibility of enjoying this technology in the place where we live, since, if so, one of these two terminals would be ideal. In addition, we must assess whether in our case we will need it to be able to have the best connection on a daily basis, since our work depends on it.

And of course, we must bear in mind that it will be a mobile that will have to last us a long time, since the investment that must be made for a mobile with 5G is usually always higher than that that will have to be made for a terminal with 4G. We will also have to take a look at mobiles with this type of connectivity, to see if there is an option that falls into our budget and if this will not be a problem.

All the similarities between the Nord and the Galaxy

It is striking to see how these two smartphones from OnePlus and Samsung share great features. More than anything, because it is usually like that when they share a main brand, as is the case of Xiaomi with POCO and Redmi. In this case it is not like that, but we can see many similarities between both models. Especially in those points that will be key when choosing a new phone, such as the screen, battery and power.

Very similar screens

The first similarity that we find is in one of the main parts of any mobile device, the touch screen. And although they are not nailed to the millimeter, in the OnePlus we find a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel, while the Galaxy has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen . In addition, both have a FULL HD + resolution and a 20: 9 aspect ratio. They even share almost the same pixel density, since the Nord CE has 409, compared to 405 for the Samsung.

However, as we said, they are not identical, since they have different refresh rates. In the mobile of the Chinese firm we find that it has 90Hz, while for the model of the South Korean brand we see that it has the possibility of reaching up to 120 Hz .

Maximum equality in battery and power

As for the components in charge of nourishing and giving it the necessary power so that both mobile devices can work, we will see that they are like two drops of water. In these two aspects, we see how they share the same Qualcomm processor, a Snapdragon 750G chip with a 5G modem , which leads them to have a frequency of up to 2.2 Gz and also sharing the Adreno 619 GPU.

And after seeing how they have the same SoC, it is understandable that they have chosen to use the same battery, since the consumptions will be very similar in both cases. It has a 4.55 mAh battery capacity, but with different fast charges. In the OnePlus we will have a power of 30W, while in the Galaxy A52 we will have 25W.

Storage and connectivity

Another of the similarities that we are going to find between these two smartphones is that they share compatibility with 5G, NFC and GPS governed by the same operating system, Android 11 although they have different layers of customization. In addition, both terminals have two versions for their internal storage, which is UFS 2.1: 128 and 256 GB. These two terminals even have FM Radio and a 3.5 mm jack input. And although both have Bluetooth, the OnePlus has a version 5.1, compared to the 5.0 that is integrated into the Samsung Galaxy.

Few differences between these two mid-range

The main difference that we find between these two terminals is in its photographic section and in the design. To begin with, in the panel we can see how the notch where the selfie camera is located changes place, since in the phone of the Chinese firm it is in a corner. Whereas, in the Galaxy A52 it is located in the center of the touch screen. In addition, the front sensor also has differences, in Nord CE it has 16 megapixels, compared to the 32 megapixels of the Samsung.

But the big difference is behind, where the Samsung mobile mounts four lenses with a 64-megapixel main sensor and f / 1.8 aperture , a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and f / 2.2 focal aperture, a 5-megapixel macro sensor with aperture f / 2.4 and a last 5 megapixel depth sensor also with f / 2.4 focal aperture. Instead, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G loses a sensor and only mounts 3 cameras. The main one is 64 megapixels like its rival, but with f / 1.79, the second an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens with f / 2.25 and a third monochrome camera with 2 megapixels and an aperture f / 2.4. Of course, both mid-range can record video clips in 4K at 30 fps.

Although, as we anticipated before, it is not only the only difference. Basically, because even though they both run on Android 11 , they have different layers of customization. In the OnePlus we will find OxygenOS, while in the terminal of the South Korean manufacturer we will have One UI.

We also find other small details, such as that the Galaxy has a weight of 189 grams, compared to 170 grams of its rival. Although, the Samsung terminal has an advantage over the phone from the Chinese firm, since it has IP67 resistance. And that’s not all, since if we finally decide to get hold of the Samsung smartphone we can add more internal memory thanks to its Micro SD slot.

A very tight purchase decision

On this occasion with so many similarities, the decision between opting for one model or another is more complicated and will depend largely on price. Although, we must also assess whether or not we care about the photographic section, in which, the clear winner this time is the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G.

Although the truth is that the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the cheaper of the two, since it currently stands at around 329 euros with 8 + 128 GB . A price that contrasts with the Galaxy that is also located in Spain and in a similar configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory for 396.06 euros .

Now we can start making decisions. And from our point of view after knowing the differences and similarities between both terminals, we have to choose to recommend the OnePlus terminal before the Samsung. Although this last phone has a better photographic section, we will have the same battery, processor and an almost identical touch panel. And all for a much lower price. Although this does not make us forget about the rival, it is also a good idea to buy the Realme X50 Pro if money in our case is not a problem, because we are going to have better cameras.
