As we mentioned, about a year ago CloudFlare launched WARP VPN for mobile devices. It is a free VPN that allows users to maintain their privacy and security when surfing the web.

Now from CloudFlare they have presented WARP VPN in its version for desktops. It will be available for both Windows and macOS. Of course, at the moment it is a Beta version.

It should be noted that the company has indicated that it is not simply a VPN service. It ensures that they will provide the best speed and quality. For this they will use the efficient WireGuard protocol to protect network connections and prevent even our operator from spying on us.

Your service uses UDP instead of TCP to reduce the need to retransmit and to be more resistant to poor connection quality. Also, another issue to note is that it uses caching and compression. According to Cloudflare, unlike other solutions, your service will need less battery and even faster than not using a VPN.

Will not record user data

These types of services, VPNs, can be used to collect a large number of users. We already know that our information on the web has great value. There are many marketing companies that can use the way to collect data of all kinds to include us in spam campaigns, send targeted advertising or even sell that information to third parties.

However, CloudFlare have indicated that they will not record any type of user data. Your service will be fully based on privacy. Nor will they inject commercials to finance the project.

They do plan to launch a Premium WARP + service that would be paid. In this way, they hope to obtain resources that would finance the entire investment and thus keep the product free.

In short, for all those users who are looking for a VPN to use on their desktops, CloudFlare has released WARP. At the moment it is available in Beta version and we can use it in both Windows and macOS. In this way we can maintain our privacy and security when surfing the web.

We already know that using a VPN can encrypt our connections when we browse public networks, for example. They also allow us to connect to certain services and platforms that may be restricted in a certain geographic location.
