Video game services in the cloud are becoming more and more popular. We can choose between services such as Stadia, PS Now, GeForce Now, or Xbox Cloud . All of them allow you to play streaming , but none of them allow you to use a computer in the cloud. That is going to change this year thanks to Microsoft.
The closest thing that exists today is Shadow Cloud Computing, a cloud computer service in which you basically access a remote desktop and play games in 4K at 60 FPS or 144 FPS in Full HD, with low latency, and Accessing the library of games that you already have purchased on platforms such as Steam or Epic Games. The problem is that the service is only available in the United States.
Cloud PC Coming This Year: Windows 10 Anywhere
Azure is one of the three great cloud services in the world, competing directly with those of Google and Amazon. Therefore, they have enough power to create a service of this type, which allows anyone without a computer to access one in the cloud, either from a mobile phone, a tablet, a Smart TV, or a low-power laptop.
Microsoft has been working on its Cloud PC service for a while, codenamed Project Deschutes . Now, everything indicates that they will present it at the Build conference on May 25, or they may wait for the Inspire conference in mid-July to show this new cloud computing service. The launch, according to ZDNet, could be in late June or early July.
According to a leak last year, Cloud PC would have three different prices , depending on the amount of CPU, RAM or storage that the user wants, where it is expected that there will be free storage in OneDrive. In addition, there would be access to programs such as Office, and with the system always updated to the latest version. The service will be available at https://cloudpc.microsoft.com/ , where an error currently appears saying that we do not have a subscription or that we do not have support to use it, which may be a clue that they are already testing the service internal way.
Windows 10X will benefit greatly
With Cloud PC, users with Windows 10X will be able to use Win32 programs remotely without consuming their device resources, and without having to resort to emulation. In this way, they save one of the biggest drawbacks of their new operating system.
