Apple Pay is the payment tool available to Apple to pay without having to carry any card. Just using the iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad can be done. Even from a Mac we can make purchases in online stores that have payment with Apple Pay. However, if you have more than one card added, it can be a bit tedious to have to be switching from one to another. In this post we show you how to change the default card in Apple Pay.
Change the default card in Apple Pay
More and more banks and financial institutions are adhering to payments through Apple Pay, so it is increasingly likely to have more than one associated card in our device. If you usually make purchases with a card that is not the one that appears by default when making the payment with Apple Pay, you can change it in a really simple way from your iPhone.
- Go to your iPhone Settings .
- Go to the Wallet and Apple Pay section
- See where it says “Default card”.
- Select the card you want to appear first when making payments with Apple Pay.
That’s how fast and simple it is to configure the default cards in Apple Pay. You can change as many times as you want by default card when you require it. The card you have chosen will be the one that appears on your iPhone and Apple Watch when you go to pay at the establishments.
In this section you will have noticed that Apple Pay Cash may appear, a card that you have not really hired. Do not worry, as it is a service offered by Apple in some countries to make payments between contacts through iMessage. Unfortunately, this option is not valid in many countries and in Spain for example we do not have it although it is expected that it could arrive soon, which would be extremely useful in many occasions.
Thanks to this procedure we can save the occasional headache and avoid paying with a card that was not desired at that time. However, before making each payment we can select the card we want if we have forgotten to set the one we want by default.
If you notice that there is a card that you do not use regularly to make purchases and you prefer to delete it to not pay with it accidentally you can do it by going to the same place: Settings> Wallet and Apple Pay and once here selecting the card you wish to delete, sliding down and clicking on “Delete this card”. In this way the bank will cancel this service for your card and will not appear more when you make payments with Apple Pay.
