One of the most useful functions of our Samsung mobiles, present in the system settings for years, is the Always On Display, present in other brands such as Xiaomi or Huawei. This tool allows us to consult data such as notifications, time or date from the lock screen, without the need for unlocking, saving energy by not having to turn on the phone to obtain this information.
But we do not have to settle for the style offered by the default brand since, if we want, just as we can alter the wallpaper, the icons, or the sounds, we can change the appearance of the AOD screen and download new images to give “another touch” to our mobile.
Doing so is as simple as following these steps.
Activate AOD on your Samsung mobile
First of all, of course, is having the feature enabled. For this you must access the Settings of your Samusng mobile and access the screen menu. Inside, you must check the Lock screen option and, as you can see in the image, select the Always On display option.
Here you must choose if you want to see this information always, only at certain times, or when you tap the screen once.
Download new types of Always On Display
To find new styles for the Samsung Always On display , you must access the Samsung Galaxy themes app (you can use the mobile search engine to locate it quickly). Once inside at the bottom left you have the AOD menu.
Like many other contents of the app, you will find payment styles and others that are free, if you do not want to pay a single euro select the best tab and at the top left, instead of “All”, click to select only the free ones.

Choose how to apply it
Once the new style has been chosen, Samsung gives you the option to set only the image, or the image accompanied by other details such as the date and time (the most interesting, since it is the one that saves unlocking the mobile to consult this information and, consequently, you will drain battery.
Once you have chosen it, just press done and you will see how the new style appears on the lock screen according to the chosen configuration.
From the “My Stuff” menu of the Galaxy Themes app you can select, on the right-hand side, the “AOD” option to see all the downloaded styles at a glance and apply them to your mobile according to the previous step.
