One of the problems that are appearing among users of Sony Xperia phones has to do with turning on their phone, when this becomes an impossible task and we only find a red light that stays on. Luckily, this problem is not too serious and with a little patience and following a series of steps, we can recover our mobile.
This problem is found in different models , regardless of whether it is a high-end like the Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia 1 and other models of the company such as the recently introduced Xperia 10 II . Before starting to explain this process to recover it, we must check that the smartphone is not too hot and that is why the system prevents us from turning it on, a very common problem especially in summer.
Let your Sony Xperia charge with the original charger
The first thing we will do is connect our Sony Xperia mobile to the current through the original charger and cable, leaving it to charge for at least half an hour without trying to turn it on. Surely the red light appears on your notification led and this is a good indication that the system is not damaged and most likely we can recover it without losing any data.
Once it has charged during this time, we must press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds even though it vibrates. With this, what we are causing is a forced restart with which our mobile could leave the error that prevents us from turning it on.

In case the previous process has not worked, we can resort to forcing it to start, a process with which we will not be able to have any data that we have stored in our mobile phone and possibly our solution.
What we have to do is keep the power button pressed and increase volume at the same time for at least 10 seconds, it does not matter that during the process our mobile vibrates. After this time, our mobile should start to turn on and we will have recovered it without anything having happened to it.
The mobile stays on the logo and does not finish turning on
In case our Sony Xperia does not turn on, we will have to resort to other measures that could solve the problem but where we will lose our photos, music and files. What we must do is that we download the Xperia Companion program on our Windows or Mac computer and install it.
From this specialized software we can repair our mobile phone just by connecting it to the computer, waiting for it to detect it and then clicking on the repair button . We will only have to follow the steps indicated by the program and at the end of our mobile it will be like the first day we buy it.
Do a Hard Reset if nothing has worked
If after having followed all our steps nothing has worked, we can only resort to Hard Reset and leave our mobile as the first day, losing our files. To do so, we will have to follow the following steps:
- Press and hold the power button and turn up the volume until the Android icon is displayed .
- Using the volume up and down keys we move and with the power button we enter.
- We place ourselves on the ” Recovery Mode ” option and enter.
- Now we place ourselves over the ” wipe cache partition ” option and press again to enter with the power button.
- After a few seconds we will return to the same menu, but this time we go to “wipe data / factory reset” and enter.
- Finally we select the option where it says ” Yes ” and we wait for the smartphone to erase all the content and turn it on again.
